in one of the old SAR mags, there is a picture of a sterling silver thompson tie clip (1921/8 style) that was made by Tiffany. apparently, Thompson would give these out to VIPs and such. does anybody ever see these original ones floating around in the market??
thanks

AO sold them for several years - they were not silver however. They were a 21ac or 28 ac. I was given a tie pin at the shot show last month by Moon it is a 28a1. If you purchase Gordon Herigstad's book there is a 21 mounted on the end of the book. I don't every remember seeing one marked "Tiffany". One will show up on Ebay someday -everything else does - and someone will pay $100. 00
I see the drum pin on Ebay once in a while as well as the gold bullet AO pin.

I bought mine through AO/West Hurley for under $10.00 in the 1980's.

the one pictured in SAR had a caption saying Tiffany and Co. made some in the 1920s for Thompson to give out to VIPS. I am pretty sure it said the clips are sterling. i didn't wanna dig out my SARs but i guess i will.

For anyone interested in a gold 1928-A1 version of the pin, Kahr has one available on their site for $4.95.
