I just had an interesting experience regarding a Form 4 transfer. I mailed the paperwork via Priority Mail to the NFA on Dec. 20.
They got it Dec. 23. Now, that should mean that the 90 days are up - right?
WRONG!
A quick phone call to them and this conversation ensued.
Me: "But you recieved the paperwork on Dec. 23."
Them: "We don't start counting the 90 day period until the paperwork goes 'Pending.' Yours didn't go pending until
Jan. 14, so we have until April 14 to process the Form 4."
However, they cashed the Postal Money Order on Dec. 26!
I guess they just took a long Christmas vacation.
I also guess these people aren't answerable to anyone, especially us low-life dangerous, killer, evil gun owners.

You did well. I mailed two Form 4s on Dec 9. Checks cashed Dec 15 but did not go pending till Jan 7. Be patient. They'll eventually be processed.

Hmmmm..... makes it sound like they are told to sit on these for at least 90 days.

Happiness may be not having any Forms 4 in the mill.
I regularly email a guy in Florida who has three pending at once. I don't envy him the heartburn, but he's in for a great day when the approvals come. He's bought an MP40, MP44, and M1A1 TSMG. Talk about being bitten by the bug! He has no other Class III guns. He's hot on the trail of a M1928A1 now, too!

After a few stamps in your collection seems like the wait gets easier over time.

Outrageous!!...There is no call for the long delays; We who are as pure as new driven lilly white snow, object to this treatment
(remember Janet Reno's desire to increase the transfer tax to $750.!!)

I PICKED UP TWO FORM 4 THIS MONTH ONE (M1 THOMPSON I SUBMITTED IN AUG 03, WENT PENDING IN SEP 03, APPROVED MAR 04) THE OTHER MY REISING. I SNT THE PAPER WORK IN IN NOV 03, THE CHECK AND THE PAPERWORK GOT SEPERATED BETWEEN CHICAGO & D.C. THEN THE PAPERWORK HAD THE SERIAL NUMBER TRANSPOSED, AND THEN THEY DECIDED I HAD FILLED OUT THE CITIZENSHIP FORM WRONG, EVEN THOUGH I FILLED IT OUT IDENTICAL TO THE PREVIOUS ONE (WHICH APPARENTLY WAS CORRECT).
THE THOMPSON WITH EVERYTHING CORRECT - 28 WEEKS FROM CASHING THE CHECK
THE REISING WITH ALL THE INCONSISTENTCIES - 17 WEEKS
