Well I sent my paperwork in today to the NFA and now thw wait begins.
How do you get info on when the paperwork goes pending?
It has been over 20 years since my last transfer.

You can call the NFA branch of the batf. The # is on the website. The process normally takes about 90 days once your app goes to pending status. The time between when your check is cashed and the processing starts still does not count toward the 90 days. This period on mine ran around a month. There are 2 threads on this site dealing with this that you may get some more information. Good luck!

I generally wait about four to six weeks. Then give nfa a call just to make sure it's pending and there are no problems. The big wait is usually over the finger print cards. Once they are okayed it moves along. If you have had cards approved in the last six months or so it goes quicker . (if you tell the examiner)
Try this link has some good info about the nfa

USUALLY IT TAKES ABOUT 4 WEEKS FOR IT GO PENDING..
AFTER THAT I HAVE HAD ONE TAKE ABOUT 13 WEEKS AND JUST HAD ONE TAKE ABOUT 28 WEEKS (TO GET APPROVED)...THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON AS TO THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES
