These are NO better than what others are selling, and in fact, worse.

Ok, you can yell at me,
as I placed a 20 round mag on Evil-Bay to see what it would fetch.

It would be interesting to see what it will fetch. BTW, other than a very minor rust spot on the bottom, the blueing has to be at least 95% and one of the better 20 rounders I have yet to find.

I have puchased four of these s.g mags.they are about 60-70% original finish, moderate amount of superficial scratches, and all functional.not collectors items, but at $16.67 ( or $14.87 with my buyer's club card) it is a pretty good deal.(AND A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER THAN REISING 20 RD MAGS!!!(LOL)

I might drive down in the coming weekends and try and pick some out. you can go to the place and they will pull the stuff from the warehouse and then you can inspect it. least thats how it was a couple years ago. i think they are about 30 miles from me.

There was a similar discussion in an earlier thread, which probably should be accessible on p. 2 or 3 of this site.
I ordered 1XXX and 2 XX mags from Sportsman Guide. The XXX was as described. The XX's were not. Cosmetically, and I realize this is subjective, they were not "good to excellent," as described in the website ad, and had no resemblance to the beauty in the photo. I could live with that for $16.67, but I couldn't live with the fact that the first XX I cleaned off was disfunctional. I was so bunged up and dented that the follower wouldn't budge. The website had promised "fully functional."
I sent the two XX's back and asked for an exchange -- just ship me a couple that were functional -- and they said they couldn't. For an extra $25 each, they would hand select mags, but for $16.67, you get the luck of the draw. They refunded my money. (Can't remember if they reimbursed shipping or not.) I asked them why, given this policy, didn't they amend their website to indicate the mags were not all "fully functional." To make a long story short, they responded with a bunch of B.S. This is probably a violation federal law -- deceptive trade practices -- but for $30 worth of mags, it's not worth pursuing.

i've ordered 8 of their XX's.
finish has been around 60 to 70% orginal on most one had been refinished some time ago.
3 had been altered by the brithish, i assume.
they all should funcation just fine. one is questionable now. i don't have the gun on me now so i don't know if the others work or not. but they can't be that far of spec. if i could get ahold of a mag anvil i'd be set.
i ordered them 2 at a time over about 4 months. i'm rather happy with them. but keep in mind i like the worn look that they have.
i also have 3 XX's that came from WAC. they are crappy orginal finish hag been completely rusted off, with lots of mild piting. and then reblued, they look bad.

I have ordered from "Sportsman's Guide" and "What a Country" and it appears they both get their mags from the same source. Mags for the most part work after you use the anvil.
There is poor to no finish and appear to be British surplus. Many have holes pluged to keep the sand out.
The good part is out of 20 -25 mags I did received 2 or 3 outstanding dated mags.
The rest work but are not show pieces.

Just got 10 mags for my BAR from WAC and they are the usable but way short of the "nice" condition. I would rate the mags about a 4 out of a possible 10 -- and they get 15% to restock. Stay away from WAC, thier stuff is low grade junk. I was going to place an order for Thompson mags but this test case failed and the web comments points me in another direction.
Thanks.....
