To get serious, for just a moment, I remember reading that General MacArthur had a standing order, for all U.S.G.I.'s in the occupation force in Japan, during and after WWII, that rape and other such offenses would result in the death penalty. I also remember reading and hearing first hand from some WWII vets that , in fact, some G.I.'s were hung for just such offenses.

I am a great supporter of President Bush and our efforts in Iraq. However, if we are to be taken seriously as liberators, and respected around the World, we, as a nation, must severely discipline all such offenders (perhaps not hung in each case, but certainly a court martial, followed by dishonorable discharge from the military and/ or prison time)!!! Otherwise, we will be seen as, and in fact be, no different from any other nation around the World!

Regards, Walter
P.S. I also believe women and homosexuals have no business being in any military, certainly not in a combat role, since both groups are temperamentally unsuited to it and their presence inherently causes morale problems! OK girls, have at me now, with your screaming, spitting, and wagging of fingers and heads!
