England's family defended her Friday at a news conference in Fountain, W.Va., about 240 miles northeast of Charleston. They could not be immediately reached for comment after the charges were announced.

To get serious, for just a moment, I remember reading that General MacArthur had a standing order, for all U.S.G.I.'s in the occupation force in Japan, during and after WWII, that rape and other such offenses would result in the death penalty. I also remember reading and hearing first hand from some WWII vets that , in fact, some G.I.'s were hung for just such offenses. ohmy.gif blink.gif I am a great supporter of President Bush and our efforts in Iraq. However, if we are to be taken seriously as liberators, and respected around the World, we, as a nation, must severely discipline all such offenders (perhaps not hung in each case, but certainly a court martial, followed by dishonorable discharge from the military and/ or prison time)!!! Otherwise, we will be seen as, and in fact be, no different from any other nation around the World! mad.gif cool.gif Regards, Walter

P.S. I also believe women and homosexuals have no business being in any military, certainly not in a combat role, since both groups are temperamentally unsuited to it and their presence inherently causes morale problems! OK girls, have at me now, with your screaming, spitting, and wagging of fingers and heads!

I agree with the first. Won't touch the second. I did 10 years. Honorable. Now get 20% for my neck, shoulder, arm, and hearing. They told me left arm wasn't worth as much as right arm. Now my right elbow is going. Go figure!!! If I had lost my arm I would have only got 30%.

Some SAP was getting discharged through Martin Army at the Med Board when I was going through the process. He got 100% for a mental. "Drill sergeant was picking on him!" Now he gets lifetime priveleges at PX, 100% of E-1 pay, and 100% VA disability. mad.gif sad.gif
