Just out of curiosity can anyone tell me if this is a chinese replica of a Thompson or an actual thompson that the Chinese soldier is holding?

Yep, that is the real deal. Have a photo some where of a group of Chinese marching all with Thompson's. And the guy in the back with the broomhandle is waiting to shoot the first one that turns back from the firing line!
