I wanted to start an new topic about Thompson chambers, and thought I'd use Phil's quote from my other thread. I'm a little confused about military and commercial. Does this mean that some Thompsons out there may have the commercial size? Or, will Thompsons only operate with the military size?

Why are there two sizes; don't they both use the same caliber?
