I was going through my spare parts today and notice two of my never used actuators (one marked S and the other i believe is R) have sort of a rough finish?

Was going to replace my current actuator, but that one is so smooth all around.
I figured that using these rough actuators that it would be like having sandpaper rub the inside of my receiver.

Is this finish typical?
Were these actuators refinished at one time?
What is the best way to smooth them out so as not to cause wear to the receiver?

No one has any input???? ohmy.gif

Hmmmm.

Should I use these or look into smoothing out the finish a bit? If so, how would this be done?

They were probably bead blasted and refinished at some point or they are parkerized from a previous arsenal rebuild. If the military parkerized them and used them in rebuilt guns I wouldn't worry about the finish causing undue wear on your receiver.
