I recently acquired a Magurie Bridgeport drum with the "U' stamp in escellent condition. The drum is correct as show on pgs 336-7 of Hill's book. It has all the correct features including the hollow center shaft. However, instead of being the "flat black" color that these drums usually are, this one is a highly polished deep blue-black, almost to the point of the same color as my 21/28 overstamp. Were any made like this, or did someone just refinish it later on.
