WWII era....as I understand from Frank Iannamico's article in August 4, 2003 SG News this is one of the United Specialties Company products as produced under contract with Auto-Ordinance, easily identified by a letter "U" stamped on cover.

Front: MAGAZINE TYPE "L"

THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN

50 CARTRIDGES CAL 45

FOR 1928 MODEL WIND TO 9 OR 11 CLICKS

U

Back: AUTO-ORDINANCE CORP.

BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT

REGISTERED IN THE

U.S PATENT OFFICE

U

Outside of some surface rust blemishes in few areas it appears to be in great shape. E-mail for pics: jneb3361@aol.com
Getting rid of my semi 1927 model, unfortunately, so need to let this go as well. Asking 900.00 USPS MO - delivered CONUS. Thanks for looking! John

There is (or was, it may be gone now) one of these on Sturm and Bowers for $650.00 also. It's been hangin' around for a few days. I've been trying to figure out why nobody's buying???
