TNKen
Was at the Bristol, TN PD today getting fingerprinted for a new NFA. The major was a friend of mine. Was telling about the sheriff's department trading 5 Thompsons for Ruger AC556's several years ago. Also told that about 15 years ago, the Bristol PD sold several for $500 each, complete with drums. Unfortunately, he did not know the type of Thompsons sold. Ouch. Ken
Scoobie1
That sucks...I talked to the police chief down here in Charleston, all their Thompsons are locked up in storage at the main station. He didn't know any details on them, I'm trying to get him to let me in for a sneak peek. TNKen, you know where Piney Flats is? That's where I'm from. Just wondering, cause I asked a guy from Bristol that once and he had no idea.
full auto 45
I got lucky and bought my M1 from a PD last year. I check out all the small towns now to see what they have.
JimFromFL
QUOTE (full auto 45 @ Sep 25 2004, 07:36 AM) I got lucky and bought my M1 from a PD last year. I check out all the small towns now to see what they have. How do you know who to call? I tried doing this with many NJ Police departments, but no one knew much about anything. Even when talking with the head person of the Armory. Everything resulted in a deadend.

full auto 45
They contacted me! They found my website about the Thompson and emailed me if I was interested. I jumped on it in a heart beat of course. You saw the M1 at the TCA show I think. Sometimes if the locals at the PD's are gun friendly, they will tell you the truth. I had 2 1921's all but bought, the chief hadn't filled out the paper work yet, and then he was voted out and the new guy wants to keep the guns in the display case. Where they are rusting up pretty badly I might add. no, I won't tell where it is but I'm still working them. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
