I saw a post by Dan on Subguns.com a week before the creek started. I e-mailed him about the Thompson. He e-mailed me back last Friday. The gun sold Friday for $19,500.00.
He had said it was an all original "Cherry condition" US1928A1 by Savage, and went with one Stick mag.
Just thought I'd pass it along....

Yikes is right!
More Thompson greed.....
Not sure what to make of it. I've seen some fairly decent prices on some desirable guns in the last 4 weeks....some I probably should have bought (But I'm saving my cash for the SAR show).
Not sure if prices are taking a small dip....but 20K for a Savage tells me otherwise. One of the other C&R guns I inquired about was a Savage M2 that was (in Dan's words) a real "DOG" that needed a total rebuils. His price? $28,500.00!!
So it ain't just Thompson greed.......
Now I don't fault the dealers like Dan for wanting to get as much cash as possible out of any particular gun, but they have to realize that they are (over)pricing themselves right out of existance! Sooner or later the price of everything will be soooooooooo high that nobody will be able to afford anything. No Sales, no business.
Oh well.....

Dealers like Dan, who have primo reputation, can get primo prices out of guns that ordinary mortals can only dream of.
I can't get anywhere near comparable prices on the pieces I sell.

i expect for s.a.r. show this year to have the highest prices in gun history....it will surpass knob creek...post sample's pre-86 sample's..all of it. will be top buck's and over...the greed factor will be there. on everything...including part's...........
they will have a car lot in the parking area,to take in car's and s.u.v's and trailers on trade for gun's.wink!!
just think trade in that old 2001 vette on a colt 1921, or the hummer on a mg-42 and mg-34!!!
the madness will continue....
until ....
take care,ron
