Folks,

I have a 1928A1 Thompson serial numer AO19xxx and was wondering where I could find the date range of when it was made? It's marked Bridgeport.

Thanks!

All 1928A1 Thompsons have the Bridgeport, CT address on them. Auto-Ordnance opened the Bridgeport, CT plant in late 1941 so generally speaking all 1928A1 Thompsons made at the Auto-Ordnance facility were made during late 1941, 1942 and maybe into early 1943. M1 series production began in 1942 and 1943, so you have about a little over a one year period during which the 1928A1 Auto-Ordnance made guns were made. Based on the serial number you provide the gun was likely made in early 1942. Hope this helps.
