Anyone out there have a pic of a '27 that has had the barrel shortened? I know PK can do something like this, I think its only moving the Cutts back 2 inches or so but I've never actually seen what it looks like.

Anyone Have A Pic Of A "shortened" '27 Barrel?

Go look on the old message board for PROJECT "X". I had this done, and there should be many Pics there..Actually, Doug Richardson had produced a much similar Barrel for me back in 1991, and I believe Damon at http://www.Tommygunner.com is also performing the same modification. Looks really good, especially when a Horizontal Grip is used, or a Deerslayer Horizontal made 1" Longer. Though I feel having a Compensator made 1/2" longer, than moved over the Barrel would also increase the shorter overall length look even better.

done by PK

made a nice difference.
i only did it so as when i do an sbr, i'll have a better chance of unloading this barrel. and it does fill the bill, so i don't feel as "rushed" to do the sbr.

Here is Project "X" with overall barrel length at 16".
The barrel actually extends through the compensator.
The gun had a complete rust blue refinish by Damon
before I recieved it. LionHart did the oil finish on the
stocks - no stain - but I will be putting on additional
finish coats of Pilkington red/brown linseed oil.
This gun is a real beauty!
Will post some pics later.

Dave

LIONHART:
YOU should be proud - you were the orchestrator of
all the special touches that went into it!
Correction: The finish is actually black oxide over a
bead blasted surface - I'm told the metal finish
looks just like a Colt!
