New To The Message Board

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the boards Brian (pca16)! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif It is indeed good to know that there is a fellow Thompson enthusiast that close (I'm in Western New York). I think I might be able to visit sometime when the weather is better. I have an analog and a digital camera, but they are not top quality like Zamm's, just consumer quality. I live in Lockport, N.Y., just 20 minutes north of Buffalo. Bradford is about 80 miles south of Buffalo, just over the N.Y./PA border. Let me tell you guys, Bradford is known for good snowfalls and has set some records for cold nights during the winter. I think I found my new best friend in Western PA! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Regards, Walter

P.S. Maybe I'll see you at the TCA show/shoot also!

Brian

I remember you now, we had a real nice talk about tommy guns and things and about people we know.

It was at the picnik tables at the SAR show on Fri. If I remember right, you are a member of the TCA club.

Your about five hours away from me,I used to hunt ( McKean Co. ) in your neck of the woods.

Nice to here from you again.

More later

See Ya

PA. seems to be a powerhouse when it comes to Thompsons. I know another fellow there who has 10 Colt Thompsons, several of them very low serial numbers. What is it with that area, why are they so numerious around that part of the country? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/huh.gif

I'm not a PA resident, but a former co-worker was and now is again.

To somewhat paraphrase him, PA tends to be mostly NFA friendly and there is enough wherewith among the residents to make PA a sort of NFA heavy region. Lots of NFA generally brings lots of TSMGs (all boats rise with the tide, so to speak).

All above is hearsay, so could be totally off.

Brian,

As Walter stated, I am up to my armpits in expensive photo gadgets,

so, it would be an honor to photograph your fantastic Colt collection.

Hell, it would be an honor just to look at them! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Anyway, perhaps in the spring, some of the local members could get together for a field trip.

I was thinking, it would be great to start archiving these beauties for the future, perhaps a Thompson photo

database, complete with all their particular idiosyncrasies...

Best, Zamm

Nice to meet you. I'm still recovering from your list (ack! Ack!)

I can't say if I met you at SAR as I'm terrible with names, and then the internet tosses "handles" into the mix.....

But I probably saw you and I don't easily forget a face!

Here's hoping to "meet" you (again?) at the TCA show this summer!
