Bill-banger
http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif I finally got my M1A1 the other day, got home and got the sling out that I'd previously bought to intsall and can't for thelife of me figure out how it goes on. There is a clip at each end to attach to the sling swivels on the gun, but there is an end floating loose that looks like it should go through the webbing but neither of the clips will fit through the loop. I seem to recall a website somewhere that had instructions, but I can't for the life of me find it right now. Help?

Hawkeye_Joe
Justa quick FYI... After you snap the clip onto the swivel or the loop you can squeeze the spring down and push the whole clip through the swivel/loop. That's how you pass the whole clip through. After figgering that out I was home free.... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif And you won't find that lil tidbit in the FAQ's..... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
Merry Ploughboy
Bill-b., Pictures of your Thompson (with sling installed)? History? Range report? Some of us TSMG geeks like to read/look at the stuff others have. Of course, we also respect your privacy. In any case, congratulations and enjoy many happy times with your Thompson! Bill-banger
http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif Thanks for the help, guys. I got home last night and figured out I could clip the end on the swivel and then depress the latch and go on through, and I finally found the website that shows the sling in two different configurations. http://www.rifleslings.com/index.html is the site for it if anybody needs it. And yes, I'll post pics and a report when I get time. I haven't even fired it yet, but maybe soon. Bill-banger
