Got back late yesterday, so started a discussion on what type of "Basic" NFA shooting collection would one get for $100K if starting over today, and got the following results:

Summary as of 14 postings with lists (counting one M16 only and ring for the wife)

Listed in 11 of 14 Postings - Thomson (mostly 1928s), MP5/HK Sears & M16
Listed in 7 of 14 - 1919A4
Listed in 6 of 14 - MP40 & Uzi
Listed in 5 of 14 - AK47 & MAC11/9
Listed in 3 of 14 - MAC10/45, MP44 & M2HB
Listed in 2 of 14 - BAR, Vickers, M60, MG42, SW76, AM180, Sterling

Asking the same question here would expect to get an answer of either all Thomsons or since is a shooting collection (i.e. leave out the 99.9% Colts for everyday range guns):
M1
1928
MP40
BAR
MP44 or M3
1919A4.
