Mike, I owned at one particular time, three of the Canvas Kits. A Mills, a Rusco, and the Unmarked. I sold all three back in 1992 in the Thompson Collectors News. Even back then, most folks in the Thompson Community considered these Scarce compared to the Metal Kits. At that time, a Complete Canvas Kit fetch anywhere from $1000.00 to $2000.00. In 1990 I purchased a Metal Kit MINUS all Parts for $500.00, and sold it a year later for $1500.00. Now the Metal ones can go as high as $4,000.00, and the Canvas ones around $1300.00 on up. It seemed back then (1990-1992) that the Canvas Variety of Kits crawled out of the Woodwork! I would think that (Just my opinion) that the Canvas Kits were produced prior to the Metal ones.

The metal spare parts kits appear to have been first introduced in 1928 so it does appear that the canvas spare parts kits were produced prior to the metal kits. Reference the 4th quarter edition of the Thompson Collector News.
