Hello in WWII did anybody put any markings on the M1 and M1A1 thompson butt stock ?

The only ones I've seen are the arsenal rebuild stamps (i.e. MR for Mount Ranier, etc.).

Check out the movie "Walk in the Sun". One of the soldiers carries a thompson I belive he named Baby. The buttstock is heavly carved.

That Thompson changes from one type to another when used.. I think it was a 1928 and when they attacked the half track it changed to an M1.. but I might have it backwards.. rolleyes.gif
