I have used white grease on the bolt and inner receiver of '28 and M1 (and on the Blish "H" of the '28) and any number of gun oils such as CLP, RemOil, Triflon, and Hoppes Gun Oil on the fire controls without any failures of any type.

Of course I only shoot new American made ammo. Mostly Federal Eagle red box and Win White box once in a while.

YRMBD, YMMV, IYL, and all that.

Oddly enough, my dad always used Singer sewing machine oil on his guns. And it works quite well BTW.
