For some reason he brought the gun in to the show loaded, and while clearing it managed to discharge a single round.
The round hit the Browning rep in the leg, severing her femoral artery. One of the Blackhawk guys apparently had some .mil medical training, recognized the damage and triaged her while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. According to the EMT, she would have bled out if not treated before they got there.
The Kahr rep was removed in cuffs.
Thsi, of course, is all hearsay.

Thank god no one was killed! I think it is a good thing that the press did not sink thier teeth into this and run away with it. This could be bad for all of us. Perhaps the best thing to do is not draw any unecissary attention to it. Just my .02

Mike...I don't think the article you pointed out was the Kahr incident but yet another.

I turned down a free ride to that show . Ellett wants more of our business . I now definately have no regrets about not attending . I placed some orders through the safety of the internet .

She will recover . The lady only received a flesh wound

I don't see any reason to scold her , but what other type of freekin wound is there ? Bullet enters body , tears flesh in it's path . jeez
I believe the press didn't run with it for 3 reasons . No one died . It was a privately held dealer only show . Invitation only . Also , Chapin , SC is very rural ... atleast it used to be .

Well, I suppose a flesh wound would be one which penetrates skin and muscle tissue only but NOT vital organs, major arteries or bone. .02

I got a carefully worded response from my sales girl about the " unfortunate accident " . She will recover . The lady only received a flesh wound ![]() I don't see any reason to scold her , but what other type of freekin wound is there ? A flesh wound means nothing hard was hit... ie bones... When you shatter a leg bone it just adds that much more damage to the hydrostatic shock that damages blood vessels, nerves etc.
EDIT Yeah what Jay said above....

My point was mainly that they were downplaying the shooting as only a flesh wound . Not the cluster that it was . The only attendees were dealers , manufacturer reps and distributor people . These peolpe are supposed to have a clue !

The news traveled like wildfire through the dealer/distributor community . I'm betting the SHOT Show will be extra tight this year .

Of all the goddamn times for a Kahr Thompson to actually work.... ![]() Rob |
LOL,
I know its not funny, but I must say that your statement really struck me...
I deal with life and death situations several times a day. Perhaps I'm just getting morbid.

The last show I was at there were signs placed around some of the booths stating that someone had made the statement that there was going to be a possible incident.
A lot of CrAzIeS out there!
