Here are a few more WWII era ads featuring Thompsons that I have collected:

 

1942 Columbia Bicycle Ad:

1946 Post War Army Recruiting Ad - Features an MP capturing an SS soldier hiding after the war. (There was a lot of this, especially with the Japanese. Two Japanese soldiers were in the news a few months ago that were still hiding in the Philippines...Many stayed in the jungle for 20-30 years folowing the surrender)

Remember way back before MP3s, before cDs, before tape, we had something called records? Well sound effects for radio shows, plays, etc., were done with cued up records.... So if you wanted to see a Thompson in your minds eye, you would cue up the ole vinyl and TA DA!, Thompson in the brain cavity.....
