This week is the 8 week mark of sending in the paper work for my first TSMG.
Who do you call to check on the progress of your paper work ? I don`t want to seem like I am pestering them, but I would like to check on the progress to make sure everything is in order.

Doc,
I'm in the same boat.....I've been told to by the ATF to wait a minimum of 3 months before calling again; it will be that long before they get you in the system...when the time comes, call 202-927-8330 and ask for your examiner...they put you on the list aphabetically, so be patient!

Details of the entire process, including the phone number, are on the part of the form 4 that we all tear off, don't read, and throw away!

Tear off? What part do we tear off?

Edit.... I use an online pdf form so I guess I don't have anything to tear off....

If I waited 3 months to call on my last two transfers it would be after the paperwork was approved and returned.... I give it 4 weeks, call and check to see when it went pending, then sit back and wait.....

I asked a question (submitted in writing) on gunsmithing on a NFA gun and the answer (which came back today) took TWO months.

On the other hand, I had two form 2 build and form 5 transfer (on the same gun) take place within about 3-4 weeks.

Congrats!

Fifty three days is a great turn around time. Make sure you post some pics. I remember my first Thompson - what a blast it was to get the gun in hand the first time....

Chris.
