Wwii Action Cover

Ok, guys teach me a little history on one of these wwii
action covers, were they made for both 1928 and m1 or does one fit all were they made to keep the rain out and to help from cold weather or what and were they used by they US and the britts

Are you referring to the canvas breech cover? These were originally a Colt Thompson accessory. The Brits discovered them when they purchased Colts in 1940. After that, they produced them in GB for the model 21s and 28s used in North Africa. I doubt it was a good idea, the canvas fit tight and tended to trap sand in the action.

ok, thanks out of 118 views so far you are the only one to
repli there was one that bid on ebay i was going to bid on it but i had know idea what it was worth i think it went for around 90.00

What are they worth? Not sure, but the commercial Mills is pretty rare - Few Colt collectors have an original commercial breech cover. IMA had the British ones about a year ago for around $20. They may still have some. The military version is a carbon copy of the commercial cover except for the markings.

I bought 2 last year for $20 each. Originals. Watch the snaps, they like to pull out.
