I just picked up an older wh SA thompson and would like to find out just when it was made. If any of you know of another source please let me know.

Tracy Hill, "Thompson: The American Legend." But it only has production dates for the Colt Thompson Submachine Gun. What is your WH 1927 A1 serial number? They are listed on a TCN website.

Perhaps you are thinking of Gordon Herigstad's HUGE book on TSMG serial numbers? Tracking down serial numbers of Colt Thompsons has been Gordon's passion for years.

The serial number is 12237. Please forgive my ignorance but what does "TCN" stand for? Can you provide a web address? Thanks for your assistance.

Sully,
It was made in 1982.
Here is the link to the specific page that has the info:
M1927-A1 AO West Hurley Serial Numbers
"TCN" refers to "Thompson Collectors News."
