How do you tell the difference between and original Colt horizontal fore end and a WWII fore end? Is there any markings on the original Colt that are not on the WII ones?

WWII will have markings while the Colt would not. But the front of the grip has a rounded contour and offset Enfield sling swivels.

Here is a re-post of some pictures I took about a year ago showing the differences between a genuine Colt horizontal fore end and a WWII Savage variety. The Colt grip is the one with the Enfield type swivel attached. The pictures should explain the differences, which are exactly as Arthur previously mentioned.
