I got one of those modified ones and you will still needed to modify it to fit your gun... for the price and if you can do it, you are better off getting an original mag catch for a FA thompson and doing it yourself. Just my 2 cents.

I did one years back, I think the lowered distance needed is roughly .10".
You want the same profile when your done as you began with.
I used a spare GI as a model. Go slow and check the mag fit often.
Lastly, some rifler files will help the process.
