I have 3 28 stock sets right now..2 crossbolts and the 1 non cross bolt...just trying to get my gun

Wolfer: I guess this has been gone over so many times already so...Thompson buttstocks did not begin to receive the crossbolt modification untill 1943, so yes you should use a no-bolt. Another early feature on '28's were the adjustable Lyman rear sight and finned barrel, milled swivels (not stamped). Hope this helps.

I just bought a beautiful, NOS, non-crossbolt from a guy in Canada -- paid about $60, plus about $5 shipping. He sent me photos of several, and I chose the grain I liked best. If anybody's interested, I could dig up his e-mail address...

OK I don't have access to my old personal e-mail at the office. I'll find it this weekend & post it.

There is a guy selling complete 21 and 28 wood sets ,any stain shade lite or dark ,fancy grain, etc.,that he grows, harvests, shapes etc.for under 200 US.He advertised 1-2 months ago on Bowers or Buddys. It sounds reasonable for 3 pieces of prime wood IMO. Maybe after the holidays when things calm down around here I will treat myself to an upgrade.KEEPEM` SMOKIN`. out

The guy in Canada is named Nick, and his e-mail is Supair@sympatico.ca
Also, Deerslayer on this board makes complete wood; he's making me a 21-style set.
