Assault Weapons Ban Update

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, who is from Long Island, and whose husband was killed, and son wounded severly, handicapped by Colin Ferguson 10 years ago in what has become known as the "Long Island Railroad Massacre, is still at it in an article titled "10 Years Later, McCarthey still Fights Guns".
Again, all of our sympathy to her and all the family's who lost loved ones on account of a deranged maniac that evening. But she really has only one ambition in life, that is to remove all guns. Period.
She is trumpeting gun control as "crime control", talking about how the "gun industry" has "outsmarted" congress by marketing new models that are, with cosmectic changes, still assault weapons. They "accept high-capacity magazines, can spray bullets in rapid succession and there are kits, available by mail that can be used to build an assault weapon". She says the first task is to get the House Republican leadership to bring an extension of the ban up for a vote before it expires next September. She also says that an awful lot of congressmen have come up to her and said "your not going to start this again, are you?", and she says, "Just watch me".
The article also notes that Democrats Chuck Schummer (NY) and Diane Fienstein (CA), original authors of the ban in the Senate, are pursuing a straightfoward extension of the current law. That, they say," has the best chance of passing the Republican led Congress and being signed by the president". Meanwhile McCarthy and Sen. Frank Lautenberg (NJ) want the new law to "fix" the loopholes the gun industry has "blasted" through the current law.
So, there it is, they are on the move, and folks, we have to be too! Man, would I love to be able to purchase a new L drum one day without getting my house refinanced!
Write, write and write some more to your local reps.
Cheerio, Zamm

I really love this state, live on Long Island, work in NYC, got some of the best of all worlds, but for politicians,
OI! Pleeeeeeease!!!
Walter, did not realize Schummer was up for re-elect. I have that feeling he's got a lifetime job here!
All we can do is be heard and vote.

See that chic has the wrong ideas. I feel terrible for the injury to her child and the death of her husband, which is tragic, and terrible!
The solution: a NATIONWIDE concealed carry!
Tyrone, or what ever the hell his name was, goes bananas on the train popping off caps then one of us stands up dust his worthless ass, and the whole train buys a round in celebration at the next stop!
If her husband were armed as his second amendment right says he should be this would have not happened!
Just my thoughts!
Take them as they are!
I wish more people thought like me!

Not sure what you mean, I am a bass player (more towards metal, not big bands) , but I've never been to Chicago. Looks like a great city, want to visit one day.
Born and raised in NY.
As for this thing sunseting, no, Daves right on. I think if we fight real hard, we will be lucky that they just extend it and not add to it or make it perminant.
Then, vote the rats out, that's about where it may end... But again, what they want to add on to this thing is incredible, Just about all semi's, including, for us living in non- class 3 friendly states, the 27A1 and it's counter parts...
Ah!, I start to go nut's thinking about it.
Gotta keep focused and clear and write and vote.
Best, Z

The communist state of Illinois is a tax hell hole, and a gun grabbers paradise!
Even wore than New York, but not as bad as that butt hole place out west!
What types of metal do you play bass for? If that is your picture in your posts I would say Rob Zombie and such!

How can we have terms like politically correct, and still have a first ammendment?
If I call a black man a racial name and he busts my head it is done! we dont need to go to court, waste time and money, I already got my butt kicked!
If Ohio had a conceled carry that idiot would NOT be shooting up Columbus right now, because somone would have probably shot his ass by now!
It is all about control unarmed, quiet, no religion citizens are simply subjects, subjects that can be manipulated, taxed, ENSLAVED and so on!!!
It is really scary if you think about it!
