Yes, M1 frame on Westie 28. You may pay more nowadays for a 1928 frame than you did for the whole gun! -

Something ain't right... can you post pics? Or send me a PM if you cannot yet post pics, I will post them. I suspect one or the other part has been fooled with. Not a welded up gun, is it? -
Since you are dealing with a 1928 Navy Overstamp, I would also pull the Colt era bolt pilot, and lock, as well as the actuator. Use GI a bolt and parts - they will function exactly the same. I have seen a few bolts get scraped up on the bottom from probably dragging on the sear etc. Probably worth swapping in GI stuff now for the precious Colt stuff.

Firing the gun gives the F/A rattling with high accelerations. I think that is what causes it. JMHO. -
M1A1 bolt. USGI or WH

If you attend the TCA or TATA show, I'm sure of a bunch of M1 and M1A1 bolts will be there for sale. And a lot cheaper than listed above. -
Lawman, I suggest you try to make it to a Thompson show / shoot this summer. TCA is in April, and TATA is in August. There are recent threads about each event. At these shows, you will find one gentleman who has tons of NOS parts for Thompsons. Many in the wrappers. I too will have $40K worth of parts, pieces, and dummy guns for sale as well. You can usually source all the parts you want. I know there will probably be a Colt bolt if it is not sold yet on GB. So you can find almost any parts you want. And - there will be several knowledgeable folks there at both shows who will be happy to examine your gun and identify parts for you.
