I refinished a surplus military stock for my Reising and could not find any cartouche / P / or any stamps on it . I spoke with a official at the USS Texas about stock marks on the Reisings aboard that ship and he said he was unaware of any special stock markings.
If it were me and since you have another Reising , I would try taking the bolt out of the one that functions and place in the troublsome one and see if that bolt will work . Or change out the action bars . It is nice that you have two and can possibly switch parts out until you can get it to cycle properly .
I was getting some erratic firing in my Reising once and my bumper plug was losening up . I had gotten a plug that did not have any detent holes to hold the plug in place . I replaced the plug with one that had the detent holes and tightened it up snug and the erratic firing problem was solved .
No takers here on the forum ? Will sweeten the deal by including a copy of American Rifleman magazine dated June 1983 . This issue has the exploded view of H&R Reising .22 rifle . Fun and exciting .
How can one tell it like it is whenever they have not actualy taken a Reising to a range and fired one ? You are only left with hear say and those are usualy found out . You should take the Mods offer and actualy fire the weapon . Then you will be best able to judge for yourself and not keep rehashing the same ole song and dance . If a semi auto with the longer barrel and lack of fun switch is what will be written about , then I would be interested in an article otherwise ..... well best wishes .
Please say something positive about the Reising in your article . We all know about its short commings and it would be nice to read something positive for a change .
Got an exra original Colt 1911 loop mag in excellent condition and would like to trade for an original 20 round blued / working Reising magazine . I also have an original two tone without the loop if prefered .
Got some this morning . Was going to post the same heads up in the Reising board , glad you did it here . I must have gotten the steel case for $200 . I will be putting it to use .
A recent reply from Keystonearms stated they have posted some parts for the Reising on their website . I went there and low and behold there are some surplus parts listed . Yeah !
