  1. Would a original wood set fit these New Kahr M1SB's?. I never thought about it. It does sound like a good idea! Please let me know......
  2. Yes the weak hammer spring should be replaced. RPM should not be and issue, they run fast RPM! 800 to 900 RPM Good springs is what protects the hole firing process.
  3. airborne118, Make sure the firing pin is not broken! I had a firing pin break and it did differant things, fire once then not fire, then light strike.then fire again. It was very erratic and was a broken firing pin. It was a 70yr old pin should have replaced it when I got it, Put Christie pin in it and been great ever since. Or you the bolt is not caming up into battery so the firing pin gets hit by the hammer. But thats not a light strike..
  4. I would like to install that spring kit on my M1SB, would like to know if it is hard on the reciver! Thanks in advance....
  5. Sandman1957 Wow! that is in nice nice shape. You did good! You don't see the M55 stock in that shape often. Now all you need is a M50 stock and you can shoot it in both configurations. And if I read your post right you have a "M55" comming. Neat! I have two M50's and one I have shot about 5000rds. through it. Runs like a sewing machine! The other I got running great now, had some problems at first put new springs and firing pin, runs great now! You know, when you just go out and blast away hitting steel targets with a light weight, very accurate .45acp full auto Submachine gun you can't help but smile. Good luck with your new Reising's. Have fun....... jhm
  6. Wanted to post some better pics than the one's I started the topic with..... http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/xx99/jmh50acp/2013-01-26_16-18-54_696_zps67941e5b.jpg http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/xx99/jmh50acp/2013-01-26_16-18-03_864_zps142ef77d.jpg
  7. Of the 4 Reising stocks I have, they are all 1-3/4" at the thickest. But 2 are designed a little differant than the others.
  8. emmagee1917, I bought some .45ACP recently (small primered) had not seen it before. Did not know why it was like that. You say it is for indoor range use. Me and a few other shooters were wondering why it had small prime's. We shoot outside only. Have not been to local indoor range for around 6yrs. But with the low temps lately, not a bad idea!
  9. My Kahr Thompson M1 does not have "Kahr" on it anywhere! Manufactured (May/2010) got delivered to my local Class 3 in (June/2010) then transfered to me 6mos. later..... On one side it has: AUTO-ORDNANCE CORPORATION WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS USA the other side has: THOMPSON SEMI-AUTOMATIC CARBINE .45M1 NO. KC578X
  10. T Hound, I read in one of your earlier post that California has the most Machine gun owners! There was a artical in a Virginia News paper on Oct, 21st. 2012 titled "Virginia tops US in Machine gun owners" the artical went on to say it did not have the count of how many of them was privately owned but there were more registered in VA than any other state. And California was a close second. Just thought I would comment since I had read that! And I do reside in VA
  11. WW2Collector39-45, Don't know if it's cheaper to buy from Kahr and have it transfered to my local dealer like I did ($1500.00) + $200.00 Tax stamp or buy long barrel M1 and have it changed to SBR, don't know? That should be great when get her done. Look foward to seeing it!
  12. Bought this SBR because I am such a fan of the M1 of WWII. I love it, and a lot less money. To me it still has the cool factor.
  13. Sandman, Congrad's on the new Reising Look foward to seeing pic's! jhm
  14. jim c, I agree 100%... emmagee1917, Will have to look at the mag well and mag catch soon. The other day, i had to get back home. Wife wanted to go somewhere and do something. Will get back on it soon. At least it seem's to be running like it should! I really have not spent that much time on it thus far. Just go long periods of time between doing anything with it. Any body that has messed with a reising know's there is not much to taking them apart and putting them back together. Will post when i get back to it! jhm
  15. I love history and WWII history! And all the old SMG's! Your right! I can understand why the Marine's wanted something else at the time! But,they are just toys to us. I would not trust any 70yr. old firearm with my life today. Now my '86 MG's or my other modern firearm's. Yep! As quick as they were manufactured for war time and if they would have spent as much time with the Reising as they did say with the M16, history could be differant for some of these!
