This may have been addressed in an old post, my search didn't turn it up though. I lost the trigger housing pin for one of my carbines and don't have a spare. It's in my basement somewhere, but so are a dozen AR springs that have launched themselves over the years, never turn up. Anyway, in searching for a good source, I stumbled on a post on some forum recommending Sherluk, and even though it was a couple of years old they still list good prices on some otherwise hard-to-find parts. I found lots of sources for the housing pin, but I also lost the plunger for the disconnector spring on my M2, and Sherluk is the only place I could find one. So I thought I'd pass it along in case somebody else has a black hole in their shop that swallows small parts.

I've had the carbine among others in my collection for 30+ years, and a few weeks ago I was negotiating with a potential buyer when I examined it closely and discovered it isn't an original Rockola, bur rather a Fed Ord copy. It is stamped Rockola on the receiver where all US government carbines are, but in very small letters on the side is stamped Federal Ordnance. I had never noticed it before. I'm not a hard core Carbine guy, but have loved the little guns since a boy, so forgive my ignorance. This gun was made long before the newer Inland guns coming out now and I don't remember reading anything about the one. I had another Fed Ord Carbine long since sold but it only had rge Federal Ordnance stamp on it. Anyone know the history of this?

I’ve been a collector of m1 carbines and garands for a few years and recently lucked into finding an m2 for a great deal. It’s a registered trigger housing, and it’s in an older Iver Johnson. It was done by John Stemple. The seller is an older gentleman and just wanted to get back what he paid for it. I’m new to the form 4 world, but think I filled everything out correctly. Mailed it off a few weeks ago, and my credit card was hacked the very next day. I contacted the atf multiple times to try to update payment info, but with no luck. The seller received the paperwork back yesterday saying payment was declined, so I was able to update it then mail it off again yesterday. Now we wait. What’s the general wait time looking like for in state individual to individual with hard copies of paperwork? The trigger housing itself is the registered part. I saw an older thread saying that could be iffy (though others said it was fine). Any updates thoughts on this? Also, any thoughts about keeping the trigger group in the Iver Johnson vs putting it in one of my usgi m1s? I have the option to just buy the trigger group, but may buy the iver to keep one of my usgi from wear and tear. Looking forward to learning from you all!

Not real sure who makes these parts, they come off the same rifle but I can not find these markings in any book I have for M1 Carbines, I suspect the slide is WRA only because of the single "punch" mark in the center but its a guess at this point. What do ya'll think?

Starting to get into M1/M2’s. I see a lot of reference books mentioned but what do you guys recommend as best overall reference and learning book? Maybe the max of 2 books. Also I see it’s recommended to replace all non usgi parts with usgi parts to ensure proper function. Where do you guys recommend the best place or places to get “Real” USGI parts. Thank you in advance.

Was watching "Forgotten Weapons" and Ian the Host was at an Auction. The Firearm was an M2 Carbine that he was disassembling to show the unique parts to the M2.

I immediately noticed the Detachable Spring Tube, and was wondering this can't be an Original from the Factory, but a Post War Build or Pre 86 Build.

I thought, wouldn't the Spring Tube possibly burst out the side of the Stock in Full Auto Mode injuring the Shooter??

It would seem the Solid Block Receiver with the Drilled Spring Hole would be safer for the Shooter.

Any thoughts? And has anyone ever seen an M2 with a Detachable Spring Tube???

Was wondering about the New Production M1 Carbines from places like Inland and Auto Ordnance etc..... are parts interchangeable with Original GI Parts. Had thought about a New Production one after seeing some on YouTube in use....one caught my eye,..M1 Advisor with Paratrooper Stock(M2 Conversion)....Nice but I don't want the NFA hassle, costs, waiting time etc right now.

Anyone own a New Production? Good or Bad experiences ??

My first New Carbine experience was not Good, years ago, early 1980s purchased a brand new Universal Carbine, owned it oh....about a week. Took to the Range and it had constant malfunctions with new Ammo. Tried different Magazines, same problems. Took back to Gunshop next day, his Gunsmith took a look at it, small crack in Gas Block. Money was refunded. I later found out while it looked like a GI Carbine, with a black metal Handguard, parts were not interchangeable with GI, so I wanted know about Interchangeable Parts with these New ones.

Later 1980s had a Quality Hardware for few years, I think that was the name....I do remember one thing, a Detachable Spring Tube.....didn't know till after purchased...fired great. But was told by someone not to rapid fire, the Spring Tube could burst /splinter through the Stock causing injuries, that's why long Drilled Hole on other WW2 Made ones

Anyone ever hear of these Detachable Spring Tubes coming out the side or back of the Stocks. ???.

	Thanks.

I was looking for a host USGI M1 carbine for my registered M2 kit and saw this. I think it is too nice to make it my host gun as it appears to be in original condition or at least period correct, but thought others might be interested if they collect carbines. The pictures are not great but from the description, a very nice condition carbine. Not sure what the serial number is but the date of the barrel would make it either Dec of 43 assembly or early 1944. I am not an expert so not sure on that. For the starting price, looks like a good deal for what you get.

I just started looking for a nice mix master carbine for my m2 kit and sure I find something very soon.
