Getting back to U with another cool piece I've found. I would love if you could tell me more about it... I don't have any book for it (would you be so kind and recommend?) so thought I will just drop it here

I had a hard time finding the info on the markings - found some that these are transition markings before Saco was stamped. Are you guys able to tell me the year more or less?

Anyway, appreciate any help and info... Oh and yup its full auto unaltered

M60 Barrel Socket question

Has anyone ever successfully taken off a barrel socket to put on a new one to rekey and headspace? If so how did you do it, I tried heating up the barrel socket and using a spanner wrench to no avail.

Transferable Maremont Serial Number Range?

Does anyone know the serial number range for the 100 transferable Maremonts M60s that ReconOrdnance set loose?

I was told by Jerry @ RO they all started with "077xxxx"

What is the range? Were the numbers consecutive?

I suppose any other Maremonts SNs outside of that are either rewelds

or were obtained from demills?

Anybody care to comment?

I have a M60 and the Maker, Manufacture and or Importer listed on my Form 4 is John Gibson Wakins. Can't find out anything about him via Google or other searches. Anyone know him or have any information about him. The listed serial number of the gun begins with JGW and then four numbers. I'm just trying to compile a little history of the gun. M142 craddle question for the M60

I have one of the following M142 craddle (M142 cradle mount for M60 machine gun desert tan color - Other Gun Accessories & Parts at GunBroker.com : 939456002 ) and while I understand where the .30 cal ammo can goes, to me it just does not seem necessary that once the ammo can is installed that the other spring loaded "flapper" is needed. Seems the ammo can is in well enough and the spring loaded part doesn't really hold the can from falling out or connects to anything, maybe while installed on a HOMVEE going over a bump...
