just posted in this early Colt M16 and I have been trying to decide which model number it is. Form 4 says "AR15 639". I have been doing Class 3 for a long time now and know how screwed up paperwork descriptions became over the years. However E-forms list it as a Model 639 as well. If I remember right the model 639's were in the 4790000 range. The serial number on this one is 501604x. I have been doing a lot of research today and I think it is an Air Force Model GAU-5A (Model 630) but I am just guessing. I am hoping one of you RKI's will be able to give me your 2 cents. The barrel is Colt, "C MP C" marked, 11.5" w/ flash hider. Receiver is marked "Colt M-16". Upper A1 sights, no forward assist, no brass deflector, full fence, early grip, short ribbed hand guards, and a 2 position stock. Any input would be appreciated. Pics attached.

Mauser Broomhandle Stock Leather Harness Original?

I wound up with these as sold to me as 50 round Lanchester Mags but they are not!!

They are 50 rounders but not lanchesters

They are too larger for many magwells I have tried them in

PPSH41 Wooden Magazine identification

Has anyone ever seen a wooden covered PPSH41 Stick Magazine before? It has wood that matches the Russian Rifle and PPSHs of the day. The two screws and hex nut holding on the two wooden "grips" for lack of a better term look out of place.

Does anyone have another like this? Does anyone have photos from WW11 Showing this?

I purchased an Auto Ordnance 1927a1 manufactured in 1975 according to the serial number, from a gun show earlier this year. I brought it home and it looked like it was just dripping oil and had some major rusting or discoloration of basically all internal parts. I completely disassembled the upper, lower, the bolt, etc and when trying to clean the butt plate, I noticed the numbers 243 on the inside of the plate under a ton of... corrosion or something? I took a look around the stock to see if there was anything else I missed and sure enough, on the stock under the plate the same numbers were engraved in the wood under where the butt plate would be. Under the sling mount is what looks to be the letters "ULC".

Are these markings from an older Thompson?

Found this in a box of old optical units. Is this an early US night vision unit? Foreign? The only marking I could find on it was "AVS.0677. No manufacturing marking that I could find anywhere.

Proof mark identification on M1 stock help?

Can anyone identify this proof mark on an M1 stock, 100% correct early M1 Garand rifle? This proof is only on the stock in a couple of places. It appears to the letter “S” with two arrows pointing to it from top and bottom. Any help would be much appreciated.

Does anyone know what gun this magazine fits? It’s definitely a double stack 9mm and holds 20 rounds. What’s strange is it doesn’t have a mag catch on any of the sides which leads me to believe it uses a bottom release of some sort. However, the bottom floor plate is curved. The only marking is the 20 on the back. Thanks!

Magazine ID Help

Found this interesting magazine today at a local show. Has a cool little round hole window that shows the number of the cartridges in the magazine.Guy said it was for a Bren but I don't think that is correct. Only marks I can see is the serial number. Not sure exactly what it belongs too. Any help will be appreciated.

French M1950 Pistol Holster?

Thought I'd ask the experts. This holster purports to be a post-WWII French commercial leather flap holster for the M1950 or P-38 pistol. Is it?

Also pictured is a M1950 pistol rig just purchased from Old Western Scrounger. The gun has a later FH MAS serial number and came with the accessories shown.

Ithaca Model 37 Trench Gun?

I bought what at the time I though was a Ithaca Model 37 Trench Gun.....It has the serial number 57925 and appears to be in the correct serial number range located between the barrel and magazine tube......it has the exploding bomb ordnance mark and inspectors initials "RLB" on the left side and has "P" Proof mark on the barrel along with "ITHACA GUN CO. INC, ITHACA N.Y. - MODEL 37 (See attached pictures. Everything that I have read has said that WWII Model 37 Trench Guns did not come with the game scene but this one has it.......what do I have?? A converted riot gun done by the government? If so is it a legit Trench Gun?
