  1. Going through old file cabinets of stuff. yep found another 27 Thompson gun transfers, Anyhow came across letter dated 1991 with fed inventory sheet from 11-27-34 if this is way old news let me know unless somebody wants to know what was in it.looks like only two Thompsons Crowley number #13239 DRUM 100 RD #1774 And Nelson gun with loaded 20 round magazine #2179.. of course two other pages of stuff but first time I have read this since 1991 when the agent mailed it to me also showed a Colt 38 super #13820 which is on the Chicago police dept inventory as of 1938.. I am sure all this stuff is already posted. also found some cool info on my old movie MGM Thompson #3965 used by McQueen, Wallace Beery, and Robert Taylor, from the Big House, to Never So Few, to Bataan. I can give a copy to who needs it at SAR SHOW next week. Colt 21A Ron

  2. We all know that history is endlessly lost at times and some recently discovered documents reveal the FBI's firearms training relations with the U. S. Military is no exception. I'd venture a guess that most here have read about the history of the "marriage" between the Bureau and the U. S. Marine Corps. Especially when it comes to firearms training, the FBI Academy at Quantico, and more. Dating back to the 1930s, the relationship has been forever as solid as a rock! In essence, that's the story we've been told anyhow. And although all of it is true, some of the actual beginnings of FBI firearms training with the military during that same period has virtually been lost over time. Fact is, something happened way before the Bureau's marriage to the Marine Corps. And it deserves a rightful place in our history giving all of us a more complete story of what really happened... You can find the details at our website at: 1933-'34 - FBI Relations With Army/Marine Corps More detail about the Bureau's firearms training is found at similar links at the same website. Enjoy the ride... Larry Wack, FBI (Ret. '68-'03) __________________ Larry Wack historicalgmen.squarespace.com
