I passed up a copy of the British Edition of the July 2, 1944 issue of "YANK" magazine at the Show-of-Shows in Louisville, KY last month. When I went back to buy it, it had been sold. After looking for almost 3 weeks, I was able to buy a group of "YANK" magazines that included two copies of that issue. My hunt also turned up a copy of the June 23, 1944 issue.
Both of these feature great photos of M1A1 TSMGs on the cover. The one of the Paratrooper climbing aboard his plane - presumably for the drop into Normandy - is evidently highly sought-after by those interested in US Airborne, D-Day, and TSMGs.
Maybe my enthusiasm is heightened by the fact that I am still over the moon happy with picking up my M1A1 last month, but I thought the magazine covers were worth sharing here on the Forum...
