  1. I am no FA elitist. Ihave a collection of Fa and Sa weapons. When it is time to talk i do like to keep the facts straight. I think seperate sections would be good and I would visit both.
  2. Get a bolt and assocated parts for its operation. When I first got my Reising that was my only problem. The details about my problems are in a previous message. the book detailes the problem with the bolt striking the hardened area of the reciever. Know try to find a drum????
  3. Thanks guys. All your info was great. I agree, I do not want to modify the reciever. I do want to have drum. So I am cheching out how to get a drum to work on the M1. Below is an e-mail I recieved from the guys at Stony Creek Hello, I have a Thompson MI (FA) that does not accept drum mags. I know you guys do wonders with drum mags and I have a question. Could you take a regular Thompson stick mag and use that as the feed tower to attatch to the West hurley drums to work in my M1. I have a current production WH drum --- Can you build it to work??? Response Hello, I have not tried that operation but would be very interested in taking a look at the drum and giving you my opinon of the possible outcome. You may send the items on over and I will email you before I alter them with my perspective and estimated price. Please lightly score or otherwise mark the stick mag right where it leave the feed tower/receiver so we can be 100% sure we leave enough mag for proper fit and function. email us with any questions. Thanks, Jeff What do you guys think?? 4. I heard from my Brother-in- law that he heard from his uncle that he knew someone who could cut a M1 to accept a drum mag. Does anyone out there know anything about this. I hope not because, I hate it when Billy Bob is right about guns, ya-see he is a democrat from Kalifornia. Thanks for any help Lafayette Gregory
  5. OK. Maybe I just got lucky but I got a M1 last year for 7grand. It was not pretty, it had been chrome plated and was miss-matched. BUT- it runs great, spits lead, has been cut for a drum --its a Thompson and I love it. Good luck with your Thompson hunt.
  6. Thanks Guys I used my dremil on the bolt and it functions fine. I have not test fired it yet. (the neighbors get angry about that) I odered Franks book today and will order a complete fix-it kit also. Springs, bolt extractor and firing pins. I was very dissapointed when I recieved the gun, but with you guys help i feel much better. Just the feel of the gun is great. light easy to handle and quick to aim. P.S The barrel is a replacement and the sight does not line up. Are there washers or another way to have the barrel fit properly?? Thank again
  7. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Thanks John. Your info and links educated me more than I thought I needed or wanted. Thanks again lafayette
  8. OK. I was told 147grain was sub-sonic. I buy this ammo and notice very little change in volume. (Bear brand Russian hollow point http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif ammo) I am using a gemtec-Mossad on a vector UZI. Are my expectations too high. I hear others say all they hear is the sound of the bolt moving. Are my expectations too high! I also have a bowers can on my MAC 10. I do not expect too much from this, but can I improve the quiet aspects with select ammo or other ways. I have a vector V53 SBR (223) on the way and want to buy something quiet for it. What are you guys reccomendations. Thanks for any help from those of you in the know.
  9. Just got my Reising after a pending date of sept 1. The action bar did not function and the bolt would not move. While disassembly all parts remeve except bolt. It took a few strong taps to get the bolt out. It was very dirty and I polished it with my dremel. I did not fall out when the triger was pulled and it will not go back in place. It seams to have a bulge on the top of the rear of the bolt. Should I file this flush with the bolt? or could there be other problems. I have reviewed all thread on the board and cannot find this anywhere. It is a Md 55 with a s serial #. Any help would be greatly appericated. Lafayettegregory@hot.rr.com

  12. I have a 1928 Savage M1, At some time in its past it was cut for the drum mag. It runs like a John Deere on steroids! Someone out there must be able to do this. If so then you can have the best of both worlds.
  13. All ups stores in the Killeen Texas refuse to accept firearms.....Franchise stores say they can make their own policies. I use USPS
  14. hope I was counted if not here is my request. I will take two please. Thanks Lafayette Gregory Lafayettegregory@hot.rr.com
  15. Correct me if I am wrong. The 1986 law that Regan singned into law had no time limit and was a change to current law. Thus a new law would be required that would overright that former law. That may be almost impossible to do. The bottom line would read. Republicans now want to allow anyone to buy fullyautomatic weapons such as mac's and Tec's that can spray buttlets at 1000 rounds per min in your neighborhood. And how many people would like to see their MP5 go from $15,000.00 to $1500.00 overnight. Thats just a little to think about?
