I’d buy a set. These old mags have so many issues, too bad there aren’t any new made aftermarket mags that don’t have 80 years of wear and tear.

It’s a tube gun. I’m not averse to a little polishing, this is my first MG and do not want to do anything stupid.

The plunger on the magwell is so stiff I have to use two hands to pull it down so the magwell will rotate. Also a pain when removing the barrel nut. Any simple remedies ? Thanks John

From BRP-I scored the gauge that measures the angle of rounds presented in the magazine. They have several in stock (not cheap). Now if they get mandrel and hammers……

I have a number of mags, some fit, most don’t. Trying to buy more, but so many for sale have issues.

Have a problem with my Mk II. Magazines won’t fit in the magwell. Go about halfway in and get very tight. Anyone have this problem ? No obvious damage to the magwell or the mags.

I have reasons to not want to go Oregon Trail with Dad’s shooting irons. But it looks like a one way rental overland is the best option. I’ve driven much longer distances in my time (I’m 72) but that was a long time ago. My main concern is security while traveling. It can be done in two days comfortably, It’s the overnite stay that worries me.

Inheriting my father in law’s firearms. The guns are in Pennsylvania and we live in Missouri. Any suggestions on the best way to ship them ? All conventional pieces, no NFA stuff.

My Sten is in NFA limbo, but I’m using the time to search for good deals on mags, accessories and ammo. About ammo, what 9mm is best for feeding the gun ? Is 115 Gr FMJ the best choice ? Any ideas on this and other goodies to get for the Sten are greatly appreciated ! John

You could ask the owner to remove the barrel and inform ATF and request the arm be delisted. When approved you can treat the sale like any regular transaction. But if you are pretty sure you’ll SBR yourself at some point, think about having the gun transferred to you as an SBR.
