  1. Cheers Ron, I'll give the Lemon juice tip a try, when I have some free time. Stay safe Richard
  2. Any tips for cleaning off the green tarnish?
  3. Very poignant picture, which I had saw before. So I guessed it must have been on this forum. So a quick search give me this topic posted by azboater in 2018 🫡
  4. Brad, This one is in the UK, but it'll give you an idea what the Denix replica looks like. https://www.dandbmilitaria.com/replica-denix-thompson-m1928a1-smg-sn-1092-o1-c- D&B are also selling MGC replicas, expensive replicas....
  5. Here are a few of clearer photos of the leather tabs attached to the frame Rear And two showing the front tabs, left and right. And very faded markings on mine, which has been used and abused during its lifetime.
  6. Interesting, thank you for that information.
  7. As was mentioned in my post above, and ppgcowboys' post confirms that information.
  8. Attaching the cover to the frame, see my pictures above.
  9. ppgcowboy, that is something else. That cover in the wrapping with its label, is worthy of inclusion in the next edition of 'American Thunder', in my humble opinion. 👏
  10. David, This years donation has been sent; keep up the good work and as you wrote in the copy of 'Thompson Manuals, Catalogs and other paper items' that you kindly signed for me, thirteen years ago, "Keep the Thompson History alive!" As always, special thanks to all who contributed to my knowledge throughout the year with your posts. Stay safe everyone Richard Bill thanks for bringing this topic back to the top.
  11. Back in Dec 2012 I posted the following pictures of a canvas case, and frame for the case, that I had just won on eBay. I received this reply from member, Billatlanta concerning the case: "And the correct answer is: HALF-TRACK ! The cases were standard issue on all early models (qty: 2) clearly listed in parts book. If it has a part # on it it will begin with "G-102*" The bracket is not comonly seen. I could check the books and see what they list. I doubt if they were "issued" for Jeeps (maybe someone cobbled) because the Jeep never was issued Thompsons, the Half-Track was issued 2 Thompsons, first the 1928 then later the M1 (and some rifles) as standard interesting- thanks for posting. I have an original M-16 Half-Track, not for sale. Bill"
  12. Nice find Paul,👌 I wonder how many postage stamps produced in the last 100 years, around the world, featured a Model of 1921, or even a Model of 1928.
  13. and this topic reminded me of the fashion a few years back, to wear t-shirts emblazoned with an image of Che.... I bought the t- shirt below, as a contra-fashion, at that time. It raised a few eyebrows. 🙄
  14. Here is another photo of Castro, with an insurgent behind him, armed with a Model of 1921. Novel way to attach the sling, between the barrel and the foregrip support.
  15. If you open the Inertords post above, you'll find a Greg Fox (1921A), post titled 'Fox Thompson Cases - Updates'. So no need to search, the link is there with details to PM Greg, in this topic.
  16. Happy New Year Paul, Deduction only, from information given by Jim, "The numbers assigned to WRA were 64,001-200,000"; and the information from Inertord: "believe that Winchester manufactured 47,123 total between 1918-1919, with 27,000 delivered prior to the end of WW1".
  17. Almost midnight here, off out for 'first footing' now....another old tradition...
  18. Just before the clock strikes midnight, 🕛 make sure you raise your left leg. That way you'll start the New Year on the right foot.🦶 Let us hope 2026 is kind to us all.🥳
  19. Looking at pictures online, I note many WWII BARs in the Pacific Theatre, had their bipods removed too, I guess to lighten the weight.
  20. Inertord, Thankyou for that information, it is appreciated. So SN 100418, would have been produced in 1919 I guess. Richard
  21. Does anyone know which factory this was filmed at; Winchester Repeating Arms, Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company or Marlin-Rockwell Corporation?
  22. Jim, Appreciate that information, it clarifies things for me. The serial numbers -V- the number of weapons manufactured, was confusing me. My wife says I am easily confused. 😟
