  1. Hi Just in case anyone has Auto Burglers # 453904 ,453911,453930.448235. They were formerly owned by the North Bergen NJ PD. In summer 1986 I came back from vacation .And our "firearms guy " tells me , Oh we got new guns. They traded 1 thompson ,6 M1 carbines including 4 winchester ,4 vintage colt 1911s one W prefix in455 webley , a few pre war Win pump shotguns. A walther PP ,a P38 . The 4 Auto Burglers and a few other guns. To Navy Arms . They got in return 4 post may Ruger AC 556s ,a Ruger V77 "sniper rifle " and a couple mossbergs .. Who got the better deal ..LOL OH I forgot about the 2 stens. Thanks Ron for the title
  2. Again may be stupid question .Why didnt the US adopt a "better "version?
  3. May be a stupid question . But whats the difference between a BAR,Monitor and FN D? I see the pistol grip .Seems the Monitor had better handling qualities.
  4. Hey Bruce, greetings from Hudson County ..I dont know how but # 7838 was in North Bergen inventory till 1986. Then it was sold to Navy arms .
  5. Dave Sorry for the delay ,double mistake ..the correct # is 13685.. from what I was told it was a dewat .Any info on its origins is unknown . It was destroyed March 2016.

  7. Hey guys, sorry if this is off topic . But I'm trying to help a vets family determine value of a High Standard model H-D 4 inch blue with ordenence wheel and crossed cannon stamp, non surpressed. He was a vet of OSS/CIA. I ask here because of the wealth of firearms knowledge not just limited to thompsons. thanks
  8. In a earlier post ,I had mentioned it ....On this one the LT told me about it and poof it was gone.. I think he didnt even realize what they were gonna do.
  9. I'm sad to report that Colt # 13689 has been sent to a early grave..All I know is that it had been confiscated some years ago. And was being held at a local PD, When they got it the barrel had aready been plugged and welded. A old dewat ? I only found out about it acouple months ago .And yesterday they told me ,they had no use for it .And into the fire it went, complete. It wasnt listed in Gordons book.So its travels are unknown.
  10. On the one on Sussex , Ive heard from 2 people that it was traced to Navy Arms..Cant confirm though..
  11. Hey Guys In NJ we dont get many opportunities to deal with Thompsons , but im trying . In the sprit of Gordons book , I've located 13689. Its in a NJ PD .. thats all I know. Blank listing in the book. Another is at its original pd. on display. Although cant confirm another was recently found in a wall in Sussex county NJ .
  12. Hi guys As you know here in NJ we cant have fun stuff. But has anyone seen # 7838? It was originally the NorthBergen, NJ PD gun. Last I saw it was as a young patrolman in 1986.. All I know our "firearms" guy traded it to Navy Arms , for 4 Ruger AC556s.Non transferable. Also traded were 4 Ithaca Auto burglers , 2 stens a 1911 w suffix "RFC" couple m1 carbines . win m97 m12.We also got some Mossbergs in the trade . I was allowed to shoot it once before the trade. it had a cutts comp and drum.. Just curious after all these years where it might be. Thanks
