  1. Michaelkih, nice video and 60E6. I have an E4, and it is certainly my favorite beltfeed. BTW, the most improved feature added by US Ordnance is their belt pawl to go with the E3/E4 top cover. This pawl increase belt pull, but works well with older E3 or E4, non-railed top cover as well, doesn't have to be US Ord. A couple tips if you are not aware: 1) You may want to keep a dummy round at the end of the belt so the bolt doesn't slam foward and cause premature wear on the op rod's caming tower, and 2) keep a stone around to smooth out the op rod cam tower....reallly a weakness in the design, but it still takes a while to ding them. Bolt and op rod - keep plenty of spares; 60 eats them! http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp31/lzxray/IMG_1924_zps766e0d0f.jpg
  2. Thanks guys. Commercial ammo is more readlily available now, and I have seen prices on the milsurp dropping a bit. Bought all the Yugo that I need a while back. Looking for a 9mm conversion to play with at some point.
  3. The finish on the Russian PPSH is indeed a brown, rust blueing like. Sharing some close up photos of my 1941 or nearly at the start of production gun. Note the rear ladder sight and front protected sight hood. I bought this gun directly from a Korean War Vet, who has since passed away, and he picked it up at the battle of Pork Chop HIll. http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp31/lzxray/photo_51_zps4af4341e.jpghttp://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp31/lzxray/photo_21_zpse578854f.jpg http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp31/lzxray/photo_11_zps05a5b611.jpghttp://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp31/lzxray/photo_31_zps5e2e20bf.jpg
  4. I wouldn't do it. Your gun looks pretty good. Resale may suffer. The original finish is part of the history of your Lennd-Leased gun...don't earase it. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invb...efault/nono.gif
  5. Try Charlie Erb...rumor has it, he has a barrel load of registered tubes just waiting for parts kits! Sorry, don't have his number handy though! Only a rumor. Fact is Charlie doesn't have any tube left. I spoke to him recently. Best bet is to buy a tube gun for $8 - $9K. A tube, if available, will sell for at least $5 or $6K, add the cost of the parts kit and build, and the gun will be over $8K.
  6. I have an A.O. 1928 that is in its original configuration and finish. I'd like to replace its smooth barrel and "L" sight with a finned and Lyman ladder sight. I am assuming that I could restore it later to the original configuration without affecting its value. Am I correct? Thanks for your feedback.
  7. Spare parts you ought to consider include a couple driving springs, the guide rod clip (easy to loose), stock catch (can wear out), barrell ratchet and definitely an extractor or 2. All of these parts are realitively inexpensive and not hard to find. I wouldn't worry about the bolt...can't see how they would wear out. G.G. is pretty indistructable. Medea gun is OK as long as there is no function problem. I have an M3 Guide Lamp, and it is not exactly a finely finished gun. You'll love the G.G.
  8. Parts kit is not worth the money. Buy a spare extractor, driving and trigger springs and a barrel, if you can find one at a good price, and you should be fine. Sarco has parts. There is also a seller over at Sturm with parts that Sarco don't have.
  9. Congratulation... I think that this gun was much discussed back in Sept. of last year on the Bower's Board. Do an NFA archive search. http://www.subguns.com/boards/mgmsgarchive...cgi?read=406430
  10. It is a Colt in original finish with verifable S/N. He has received dozens and dozens calls. A lot of low ball offers from dealers, but this gun ain't selling at $15K as the selller is begining to realize the fulll market potential.
  11. This one sold too for close to the asking price of $25K when I spoke to D. Landry today... From what we have discovered, 1928A1 WW2 dated about 1942 - 43. British proof marks, 50 rnd Bridgeport drun - unused, 3 30 rnd mags mint in mint 1944 USMC case. Everything look original and unscrewed with. Currently on form 4 in Louisiana. This is a consignment weapon for a local customer. Call us for more info. Dale Landry Landry's Guns FFL/SOT 225-336-9135
  12. I am told that this gun was "lightly rewatted". New barrel was installed. Is the asking price in-line? NFA Market Board WTS: A.O. 13. Hello all, I recently bought an AO Thompson '28AC. This gun has 2 owners and came out of AO in 1944 as the FOIA shows and went to PD where it stayed until the early 80s. The seller bought it from Terry Williams. He does not know the origin of the case, but it is made out of mahogony and has brass hardware. Any one seen this case before? Just currious. Thanks. http://hometown.aol.com/thv5/images/tsmg_case%20copy.jpg
