Had this same sort of thing happen with my M1 Kahr... I attributed this instance to the ammunition... I purchased a 500 round case of Winchester White box 45 ACP at a gun show. Took it all to the range (private range) and loaded up some mags. Started shooting Semi auto first just to get the feel of the gun slow fire to see where it was hitting. then after verifying that I start to do some rapid fire..... Well a few shots in a burst of Auto occurred... I immediately released the trigger so it was a burst of about 3 well each succeeding trigger pull resulted in automatic simulation... I took the mag out and reloaded got the same effect... stopped shooting it.. Purchased a bunch of 45 ACP at Wal-Mart (still Winchester WB But the value packs... runs those semi auto no problem.. the higher priced non Value Pack WWB every time I ran it same issue... discovered that apparently the stuff had just enough juice to cycle the action but the striker was not catching the sear, same ammo functioned fine in 1911s but the Kahr M1 had issues... I also noted that the ammo tended to jam occasionally noticed when it did jam the ejected round had "Wavy" sides to it A few friends who were present actually believed that my Thompson was actually Full auto... I tried to explain that something was wrong with it or the ammo but they all were still begging to shoot it and got miffed when I said no...

I'm going to try to start simply without sounding condecsending.... What are you doing "Exactly" with the Mag Catch? You are pushing it up with your thumb right? If this is a Kahr then the oblong mag catch hole in the Mag may just be not high enough and it is not releasing... perhaps if you push the mag in hard then operate the mag catch hold it in the released position and pull the mag down and out?

Thanks guys I was wondering. I read in another post that I needed to put a "Full Auto" Mag catch in my gun... Well I did and it is identical to the original, thought I was losing my mind... Interestingly enough the original was bent where the shaft goes through the frame... So I now have a nice new one... Guess will go ahead and mod the old one... and get it in there. It looks like a simple mod... I'll let you all know how it goes...

OK so I was told you could swap a Full auto mag catch into a semi auto KAHR so I ordered one from Numrich m1-m1a1 mag catch I got the part and it is identical to the Kahr part.... Is this the case or is it the placement in the fram that causes the difference? A little disappointed but at least I have a spare so I cna modify one of them...

Whatacountry has the best price I found on 30s and IMA has the deal on the 20s I just got my order from them today and promptly ordered another set! My Seymore mags from Whatacountry are in equally good condition IMA also has 30s available at a premium cost, my WAC mags were in excellent condition bathed in Cosmoline for about 10 dollars each....

Got my order today and these mags are beand new as far as I can tell! I am pleased and another order is definitely forthcoming for IMA Order with confidence! MAgs and Pouch are great! the Belt I got with mine is in nice condition too I also Ordered an M7 Holster and it to is nice though a repro, I ordered two 3 cell XXX pouches from Sportsmans guide and the 50 year old pouch is much nicer than the repro!

Only Ammo used was Winchester 230Gr FMJ BALL. I will try to score some milsurp and see how that runs... Stronger cases and hotter loads usually instead of light target crap...

As some have seen I bought a Semi Auto Kahr a while back brand new, last time I got to shoot it I was shooting Winchester Commercial pack White box ammunition not Winny val pack when I was shootin Value pack it worked fine when I switched to the first line ammo we went down hill with feeding problems short stroking and doubles and tripples and an out of battery... No damage done to the weapon but it was dirty. When the ammo would experience feeding malfs it was with the factory modded magazine with my replacement Seymore it functions fine usually then it began from that mag too. (only had time to prep one of the new mags.) when it malfs the shell looks sort of wrinkled sides are all wavy... Strange I have not had a chance due to medical issues to check it out much but I did clean it up good and took a look at a few things perhaps if I get a little energy I will polish the chamber a bit and see if that helps. Also the impossibly small bolt handle, Kahr makes an extended version which I ordered and finally received yesterday I installed it and boy does it ever make a difference. may be no need for the ez springs as long as there is something to grab hold of! I know I refuse to buy them from them this one came with the rifle... Incidently it has dents on the back like it was used for a hammer. I went to a gunshow Saturday here in town and found a Thompson XXX mag for the princely sum of 35 bucks! it had a dent in the front like it had been hit with a hammer... Ridiculous... Anyway What a country has some nice mags both XX and XXX for as little as 10 bucks...
