  1. My records show , example 49223 would be one of the 538 produced in 1939 thru 1940. 30476 one of 1883 produced 1913 thru 1914. No models produced 1943- 1947. Henwood has the probable production going from 1948- 1957 with 4900 in 56-57. Don't have records in front of me, on when Winchester changed the Operating sleeve tip, but that's a dead give-a-way for the later production 07s. CJL probably has this when he returns. OCM
  2. Nice gun, Chilean export model I believe ( Ballou book ) beautiful weapon. Jim C- notice the short charging handle, gas regulator and barrel-thread protector on this 19. OCM
  3. Where are all the BAR experts, when we need them. I'm just a learning hacker on the subject. I've seen that photo on Larry's site I think... Never really looked if they were 18s , doubt I could tell if they were 19 Colt Commercials. My 45 year , geez maybe 50 now, research has been about the Barrow/Hamer guns. Learning all the time. Jim, you've entered the BAR Twlight Zone on the 19 Colts.. CJL & I analyse dust on Dillinger/Nelson guns. We'll all keep at it. OCM
  4. Jim, Don't forget about the FBI Colt Monitors, I 'm pretty sure Larry has that information on his web site. Does Jim address this in his book ?
  5. jl7422- I had one like that , with no holes , with my 07 I had probably 20-25 years ago. I never thought to check capacity, hurt to much to load it that far anyway.
  6. Agree with HANS , just mis-identification. According to Henwood, factory just produced 5-10 rd magazines. Lebman certainly could of made one or two or ? If you're not familiar with the Winchester 1907, and it's 1933- 1934, one glance might say a 15 rounder sitting there. Ones in Tucson were 10 rounds, we've got photos of that and one still existing evidence file says 10 round magazines. I feel HANS, myself and CJL have geeked that 15-20 rd theory to death. anyway- OCM
  7. CJL was talking/advising to me about my Monitor build, the GI gas regulators have to be drilled out . The NES ones fit nicely in a OOW gas tube cylinder, some don't. The early OOW 18s had a combination of all sorts of things, all original BAR parts tho. Winchester, NES etc. Have not checked the NES slide to see if it was modified. Monitor of course will be , IF, I ever get the BAR kit from them. Should of started this project 20 years ago. OCM
  8. $9500 is out of my world on something like this- thought you might of still been flush after that Colt Commercial 19 you just got- Work for food here.....
  9. Congratulations Jim, yet another addition to your growing collection.
  10. Bet that's a original, " rare" one. As I've said, mine is a GI. Easier for Dan to make, then drill a hole in the side. Dan indicated to me, could be the same for the FN-D model. Love this BAR leaning curve, not a lot of us around, in the 18, 19, Monitor world. I like that myself.
  11. George will have a much better answer than I, of course, but back in the , I guess early to mid 90s when I was buying FND & BAR parts kits from Sarco, some had the screw on guides, but most didn't. I was doing 18 display guns ( Clyde Barrow) . Damn, now I'm looking for the stuff that was about trash then. Still have some of the wings around tho. Seems like the screw on guides were an after thought ?? OCM
  12. Correct Dan. Just screws over the barrel end and has two flat surfaces for a wrench. I have one ( GI) on my 18 as the flash hider is an original one and kept in wrap. From what I've gleaned, the 1919 Colt Commercial BARs didn't came with a flash hider but a barrel/thread protector as Jim C , I believe, has on his. The new (er) OOW 1918 SLR, which they advertise as a " Colt Commercial" and is produced under Colt contract ( or something ) comes with a new flash hider. Stunning weapon from OOW of course. I plan to strip the GI one that is " parked" and blue it. Kinda looks funny on the end of a beautiful blued BAR. OCM
  13. D- Didn't know OOW made those, or was it GI ? Dan could turn those out in a heartbeat. I think JimC has an original one on his 19 Colt Commercial as they didn't come with flash hiders. Numrich might have GIs, but it'd be nice to see one in blue. OCM
  14. Lot of gun action about 1/2 way into it. Yes seeing the Nelson Colt mini in someone's hand is pretty cool. Some good Monitor stuff also. I think I have this on VHS, lot clearer. Makes you wonder if the FBI lab ever fired any of the Lebman Colt minis for bullet evidence or the 07s ? To bad Trump isn't in to this era, " have the FBI bring some of these old Dillinger/Nelson guns to my office "
  15. https://www.c-span.org/video/?319300-1/reel-america-1936-film-you-it Old classic , good FBI stuff and Monitor guys will like it. A J. Edgar Hoover production that ran as shorts in the movie houses. OCM
  16. Stop messing around with 18 flash hiders and crank that ACME up and start producing semi BAR receivers. By the time you get the drawings done, mock up a prototype, get the experimentation done and go into mass production, OOW will probably still not have a run scheduled yet. Nice job on the flash hider tho.
  17. The 28N looks like it has a Kahr or even a Japanese Gun Manufacturing ( or whatever they called themselves ) L drum in it. Maybe a little red flag on what's in the 21, maybe not. Hope TD will find out. Going to be an interesting thread here, says I. Smart for Brown to hook up here. OCM
  18. Johnsonlmg41 says he took the photo, might start there ?
  19. Last year I saw CC at McDonalds in Belle Union with his entourage, some kid came over and asked for an autograph. He said , " get this punk outta here " . Don't know what happened to the kid but I left. If you see a crowd at the show, best to just stay away, IMHO. Watch the interview on TV.
  20. Since I'm in production of a R-80 ( semi) these parts would be gold to me , yes assuming they aren't trash, but even so, I'm but one of the few that care about the rusty story. This is a fun thread to write about but I'm afraid it's a moot point . About as likely as finding Baby Face Nelson's Thompson. Lucky for me I have some of the key Monitor parts in hand and some good advice from others. AS/B4 ( an old Dillinger signature) OCM
  21. In the photo I was referencing, there are I believe M1918A2s sitting on the pallet also. R-80s, R-75s also of course. I was told the same story Dan is referring to about Recon attempting to purchase the " mystery " pallet of assorted weapons. Sadly all these stories seem to go nowhere about the " mystery" pallet of wonderful parts a lot of us could use. I do have a hypothetical question : Say you ran across this pallet sitting in a boneyard in Miami ( or anywhere) , what are the legalities of taking ownership in whole or parts. I'm guessing it's a big pile of BATF poison . OCM
  22. Interesting, I didn't know that for a Thompson. I have one ( 1918) for BAR/Monitor display. They are fairly common items still. The 1918 stamped ones are a bit harder to find but not that much. Cool little things. Thanks Roscoe- OCM
  23. Couple of friends on the forum have got to fire the Porter County Thompson, also my pal Sheriff Ernie Hudson. I think Machine gun Mike has a video of him shooting it, as did Ernie. I had talked with Gordon about it also, and what he had done with it. That thing has the most history involved with it , traveled all over the place with Dillinger. I've emailed Mike about it all internals are Colt, he's got to field strip it I think. Be interested in hearing your take on it, if you care to. I think a lot of the guys on the outlaw forum might to, always good to hear someone else's take on 7387. We shouldn't steal this thread on it tho. PM if interested - OCM
