  1. Jim, I don't think he does either, so it's great you posted it here for the rest of the 5. 6-100 are sure missing a great gun, that still can be found. OCM
  2. Thanks Jim, CJL had sent me a copy also, good article. I sent it to some of my Indiana cops friends and some good feedback. Everybody is waiting for your article on them, at least me, one of the 6. You & CJL do an article and add the gangster touch. Just saying..........Aint getten any younger up here in the mountains. OCM
  3. Helmer & I ( and a gal from Playboy as a diversion) went to the Chicago Police Department to seek some information, hoping someone would open up. We got skunked. However they did have on display on the second floor a Dillinger death mask and a Baby Face Nelson death mask. Also the original booking ledger with Dillinger's name as one of the entries. I got a picture of the display in files somewhere. This was back in the 90s sometime. OCM
  4. Wish I was in the market for a C drum... That should move fairly quick. OCM
  5. Ron- Got thru to Helmer today, he talked about you & him & Harold and someone else doing stuff at the Lexington and all. Funny, I still have Rubin's business cards in my cars file: Chicago Legends, Riverside, Ill. Was interested in the BAR magazine & ammo due to the Colt Monitor in the car with Chase. OCM
  6. Cool stuff Ron. Interesting to me is the mention of the BAR magazine & ammo. Does Helmer know about this ? My computer and phone have been on the glitz off and on for a time & I keep getting a busy signal on Helmer. I'm sure Colt Chopper will see you at SAR, be fun to hear what he says and all. Thanks for posting the stuff, some I knew of some not. OCM
  7. Open range I always shoot the Thompson's from the hip, gangster style. Same with the BAR but that's because it's to damn heavy to hold up. I do fairly well with the Thompson, especially when I'm lucky.
  8. 50 bucks- If it has a date of 1934 or JHS on the back it's one I made. Back in the 80s I made a mold using the same techniques as the original was made, then cast some copies off that. I used the original relief I had that was cast from the original mold. Kinda looks like one I did, but the hair has been enhanced .
  9. These were taken about 1967 by a girlfriend in college. ( ouch ) . You can see the destruction then of the headstone. People chipping it away. I'm not sure but this may be the original one before Joe Pinkston replaced it maybe 10 years later.
  10. Was just showing the 21/28 actuators. A Colt & a Savage. The difference. Seems people were confused on that. Lot don't know maybe the Colt is a 2 piece. PKs conversion just looks like a 21, to lazy to look for a photo, getting ready for tomorrow. found a photo, PK's is in the center here, I think, might be my Colt 12AC actuator - But his looks the same. Old photo, hope it's no confusing OCM
  11. Top: Colt 28N, bottom Savage . The Colt is a two piece actuator. Another Savage I had made into a 21 by PK. Got it from Omega. These can be switched around in the Colts without the worry of busting an ear or something. OCM
  12. You're on it , Full Auto 45..... like " Dirt, dirt in the carbonator, blowed it away " or ( SAR Show, 2016) "Colt Chopper told me I can stick it up my Axx, if I wanted an autograph " goes around. OCM
  13. Ron- Wonder how many understand your Harry Pierpont quote, from the movie... Harry Dean Stanton I think . I got it, Pal. Tried calling Helmer a couple times about the above Fed Bank thing. Always busy. AS/B4
  14. At least on the Dillinger death mask she has it listed as 3rd generation now. Means a copy of a copy of a copy. Once you have a mold, you can make 1000 of them..about $1.50 worth of plaster of Paris. Doubt most people won't know what 3rd generation is. As Johnson41 says, if it hits the web, it's open to anyone, like this plaque Lady ( who I thought was a Dentist ) . I gave up trying to police this stuff years ago. Most of my stuff in the outlaw books, I've given the OK for and/or was given credit, some not. Glad you got that resolved FullAuto45 . Dillinger family used to sue the hell out of stuff like this, they've calmed down considerably these days OCM
  15. Wow, Ron, I was staying with Bill at the time, was there for about 3 days for the Dillinger's Night at the Biograph event. They ran Manhattan Melodrama at the Biograph for the crowd. I was one of the judges for the Lady in Red Look-a-like thing and had donated something. Yes, I remember a bunch of us, maybe 8 or so eating out together. I still got flyers from the event. Joe Pinkston was there with his wife, Neal, Bill , me and the guy that put it on, can't remember his name off hand. Tom something- Small world- Probably have you in a picture I took of the group, in the Biograph lobby or the Red Lion.......... PM me if you want, we've emailed before on Bill's contact- Still have some event pictures I think. Better stop here going to get busted on this area, over to the Outlaws & Lawmen area or PM.
  16. No , I don't think Neal copyrighted these, or could. He owned the original mold that was done on JD's body, but sold that years ago, to a collector in England. . I had a copy made from the original mold at one time, NC&P museum owns it now. There are quite a few copies floating around now, the early ones from the original mold are the most valuable. I've had so many things, lifted from my old collection, it's crazy. Usually I'm given credit but a lot of the times not, in a lot of the outlaw books. ( John Dillinger Historical Society ) Neal & I were at a Dillinger function in Chicago in 1988, to raise money for MS. They had blocked off the street in front of the Biograph for about a block. Neal loaned me a 1921a Thompson for pretty much the day, was walking all over the place in front of the Biograph with a live Thompson, talking to cops and all- Think you could do that today ! OCM
  17. Same guy is selling ones of Colt Chopper for $5.99. Says great for your bathroom or garage ?
  18. The early 1918s were made from all original BAR parts, and blued. Mine is made primarily with Winchester parts, all the primary external parts, barrel, sights etc. Stunning gun, shoots well. The Colt licensed Colt Commercial BARS are, I think, OOW built under the Colt license. I think means no idiot marks from investigation. Heavy stunning weapons as well. Good for knocking a Jeep over- OCM
  19. Sure, understand. I used IRAC, way back when they just got going, and was building display 18s. One is still in the Bonnie & Clyde museum in Gibsland. I think your best bet still, is see if Dan Block will build one for you, at least the base. He's very talented on stuff like this. Then you can stick one together with GI parts, or Enfield stuff or such. I have some misc parts that could probably get you going, if you want to go that way, PM me if interested. OCM
  20. You don't need a rear sight, Clyde removed the rear sight on some of the scatterguns, probably to make them cleaner & didn't need them anyway. The Dexter Scattergun recovered had no rear sight. Attachment is a display scattergun I made years ago, to go with the " death car" hats from the couple, that I got from the Barrow family. Clyde was wearing the fedora when killed, Bonnie's tam was in the car somewhere. Finding a rear sight might be pretty rough, you might contact Dan Block see if he can manufacture one. Good luck- nice display you are doing. OCM This posting is about 1/2 in the outlaw & lawmen forum and about 1/2 here in the BAR forum, think we are OK.
  21. Great we can play cards in jail with CC & Full Auto 45, a foursome, perfect for a card game. I'm all in.
  22. Richard, PM me if you happen to have any 18 BAR stuff or you run across anything- OCM
  23. You guys should, do St Paul, Bennet Apartment , or they have a St Paul gangster tour you can go on. I'd of already done that a week after CC pulled the Barrel. He seemed VERY interested in doing something like that when we talked Monday- Make him go.............
