  2. I've been shooting my 22 kit in a M1 for about two weeks and I left the kit in the gun and the gun in the barn . On removing the kit I found that the 45 barrel had rust on it . I am guessing from the heat form all the 22's shot thru the liner . The rust was just surface and brushed out . I "Rigged" it and put the liner back in and I will check it in a couple days. Just a warning to all you 22 Thompson shooters . Glen

  5. I also got one from Merle when he and I were at TATA. He cut my barrel to leave in the stock extractor and bolt for the raised cocking knob on a 1928. I had some friends over shoot Saturday and we fired 1500 + 22 lr ( 550 Fed bulk pack, 500 CCI blazer, 200 CCI Mini-Mags,( 200 Win Dynapoints , 150 Rem Std Vel with a suppressor ), and some Stingers. WE had " ONE " failure to extract with the Fed Bulk pack . I did run a patch down the barrel every 500 rounds to clean the chamber . Rpm was about 800 with 9 1/4 " spring and 775 with a 10 " spring. These were my heavy duty ( M1 / 28 ) springs that I cut down . I would recommend this kit to anyone thats want to have some cheap fun with a Thompson . Merle says he only had about 10 kits left at this time , and does not know if Black Dog will run any more . My advise is to buy now ! :agree:

  13. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif Yes !!! WH barrels are only good for 15,000 rounds of ball. Military barrels are good for 20,000 rounds of ball. I had some barrels carbo-nitriated, they lasted about 35,000 rounds of ball ( not cost effective, but saved changing so much ). I have used 8 barrels in 225,000 rounds in my WH. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif It is still running !!!!
