  1. That's the truth! I talked to a sales rep at OOW this morning, they are going to check and see if they have any sights in stock. Thanks again for the recommendation.
  2. Thanks Chris. I sent OOW an e-mail, if they have sights available I hope it doesn't take as long or as many pleas. We'll see what they say.
  3. All- I am in the process of dressing my 1918A3 like a 1918 pattern BAR. I have spent the last couple of months searching online for a complete 1918 pattern rear sight. I contacted BMGparts.com but he was out of stock. I have checked Numrich and I stopped by Sarco, since it's a short drive from my house, but they were also out of stock. One was auctioned on Gunbroker a couple of months ago but I drug my feet and missed my chance at picking it up. Does anybody have any other recommended websites that I'm missing? Thanks in advance. -Kevin
  4. I contracted my mother in law to build this case for my AO '28AC. It's made out of cotton duck with a layer of padding in the middle and a layer of Sherpa on the inside of the case. It's designed to carry the TSMG with the stock removed and stowed in the pouch sewn onto the side. Nothing fancy, this is meant strictly to keep the TSMG protected. I'll take pics of my Thompson in it when I have a chance to get back home and get to play with my toys.
  5. I found this article, including several photos, from the Indy Star: http://www.indystar.com/story/news/crime/2014/03/06/gun-stolen-by-dillinger-gang-coming-back-to-indiana-police/6113647/ It appears holes were drilled in the vertical grip and pistol grip, I assuming to display it at FBI HQ. Besides that, the gun appears to be in great shape.
  6. Has anyone tried using the NFA e-Forms? I have a buddy who uses them when he is doing Form 3s and Form 4s and he says filing them through e-Forms is quicker/more efficient but I hadn't thought to check if you can do the 5320.20 online. Supposedly all NFA related forms are available. Here is the website, you have to create an account in order to access the forms: https://www.atfonline.gov/EForms/faces/userProfile/login.jspx?_afrLoop=3079970441042&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=12j4n5s1o_4 It would be nice if the NFA branch was able to join the 21st century and come up with a more streamlined process for filing paperwork!
  7. That's an impressive collection. Your Swedish Ks remind me of the Egyptian one I carried in my humvee in Iraq. That was always a fun little gun to shoot when we had spare 9mm. As for TSMGs, I have a Bridgeport 28AC.
  8. I don't know what web address you used for Dan but I tracked this one down not too long ago and it works: http://www.thompsonstocks.com
  9. http://soldiersystems.net/2013/11/11/hcar-bar-21st-century/ I just saw this on Soldier Systems not too long ago. I don't know how practical it would be compared to some of the newer 7.62 platforms on the market but it's an interesting look at modernizing the BAR.
  10. The owner frequents the "Nation's Gun Show" in at the Dulles Expo Center in Northern Virginia and he usually has them on display there, along with the copy of Guns and Ammo magazine. He usually has a couple of Thompsons for sale there as well. If anybody wants to see these guns first hand, that's probably the best opportunity to do so.
  11. Darryl- Have you actually had the people at Pelican custom cut a case for you? I'd love to have a 1720 cut for my 1928, including a spot for an L drum. I cut out the foam for my AR but I'd like to have something a little more professional for my thompson.
  12. David- I went to that auction as well hoping to get my hands on a WH at a low price. The bidding went above what I was willing to pay really quickly. -Kevin
  13. The magazines were all bought by seperate individuals. I think the guy that bought the guns also bought the Colt XX mags but I forget. I know they bought the 30rd mags. The shot mag was listed as being in poor condition and you can get a look at the pictures of it from the GCSO website. I am not really sure what the market value would be for that magazine in the condition that it was in.
  14. The drums went for 13k and change (as a group), the shot mag went for 150 I think, I forget how much the Colt XX mags went for, and the 2 XXX mags went for 150. I am not sure if the guns would have gone for a different average price if they had been auctioned off individually instead of as a group. I will say that the group of guys who bid on and won the guns were pretty determined to get them.
  15. Yep, back on task, what did they sell for? The guns sold as a set for $116,000. I attended the auction with my father and we bid on two of the guns when they were being auctioned individually. We initially won SN 1781 for $23,100. That was fairly short lived as there was a consortium of 6 guys there that waited until all of the indiviual bids were done before they placed bids on the guns as a set. There was also a gentleman from AZ that came out there to bid on the guns and he placed several bids on the guns as a group but ultimately this group of several gentlemen won the guns for the above mentioned price. It was an interesting experience and I can post more later today but I am on my way out to a shooting match.
