  1. Dear God, I think one of those mannequins has a Johnson Light Machine Gun back there!!!!! I don't think I have ever been jealous of a mannequin until now. Jeez.....
  2. I don't remember seeing even ONE M1 or M1A1 in Windtalkers, and I've seen the movie several times. Heck, even the pictures the guy included in his auction don't show an M1 or M1A1 being used. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/dry.gif
  3. I haven't seen "Dirty Harry" in a long time, but if I remember correctly, Scorpio was using an MP-40. Now you've got me wanting to see the movie!
  4. GOOD GOD!!!!!! Is it possible that all of the guns pictured were confiscated????? There's some pretty rare stuff in there. I saw a lot of Stg-44s, an Austen, Hotchkiss Universal SMGs, UD42s, and TONS of Japanese light machineguns. Even aircraft machineguns in there. I could see confiscated AKs, Uzis and even Thompsons, but some of that stuff would be hard to come by in the legal market. I'll bet there are a LOT of GI bringbacks in there. Too bad this stuff can't be transferred. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/banghead.gif
  5. No disrespect intended, but if I remember the joke correctly, the porcupine has the pricks on the outside, while the BMW has....well, you get it! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
  6. I saw Uncommon Valor the other night. It is funny how one's perspective changes with time. I think I was 16 or so when I first saw the movie in '84. I knew at the time what the guns were, but I never noticed the "little things" like I do now. I noticed the other night that the M1928A1 (I'm guessing on that one) that Blaster had on the bridge didn't seem to have any rear sights at all! Movie guns are a hoot sometimes, aren't they?
  7. Go to www.gunpics.net. There's a good little "how-to" on there for M1928A1 Thompson disassembly with pictures for every step. Just click on "Disassembly" after you have selected American Weapons, and M1928A1 Thompson. Hope this helps!
  8. Hi everybody. I don't post very often, as my time is limited. I have an original Colt patent date magazine (20-round) I would sell if you're interested. It has a good sized rust spot on it, but that may be restorable-I've seen some REAL talent on this board! I'll gladly send pics to anyone interested. my email address is phil4942@bellsouth.net. Thanks!
  9. Glad you like the books. It was a pleasure doing business with you sir.
  10. Hello folks. I'm John Eyster, and I have 6 30-round Thompson magazines for sale if you want them. They are all used but in good shape (no wallowed out mag catch holes). 5 are blued, and 1 is parkerized. I can send pics if interested. Asking 70.00 for all 6 shipped. Both Hardrede and Beechnut have bought from me before, and I have had no complaints.
  11. NICE GUN! I have always liked the looks of the C1 and the Sterling. How does it shoot, (cyclic rate)? Is it as reliable as everyone says? What kind of finish does the gun have? It looks like parkerizing or some other phosphate. Thanks for the pics!
  12. Thanks a LOT, hawksnest. I have never posted a question on this board that hasn't been resolved. I really appreciate it!
  13. We all know the Thompson and the Grease Gun shouldn't even be mentioned together in the same sentence, but I appreciate your reply! The Grease Gun is still an interesting weapon, though. I have adored the Thompson SMG since reading Sgt. Rock comics when I was a kid. I believe it (M1/M1A1) is a viable weapon even today, and I wouldn't hesitate to carry it into combat if that ever became necessary. You guys should consider yourselves blessed to own such awesome pieces of American history. Unfortunately I only have an M1A1 display gun built on a Philadelphia Ordnance receiver.
  14. Greetings to everyone. I haven't posted on the new board yet-and my first post is off-topic (jeez). Does anyone have or know where I can get a barrel assembly for a M3A1 Grease Gun? I have checked with Sarco and Gun Parts Corporation, but to no avail. I realize this is the Thompson board, but let's face it, this board is where the action is! Thanks in advance for your replies and your help. Respectfully, John Eyster
