Owen shoots 10” left, 2” high at 10 yards
APEXgunparts replied to huggytree's topic in The Owen Gun Message Board
There is a good question, who can reline an OWEN barrel? I have examined a handful and every one of them looked like it had seen heavy use in a jungle! I have 2 barrel and both are not great. Richard -
Owen shoots 10” left, 2” high at 10 yards
APEXgunparts replied to huggytree's topic in The Owen Gun Message Board
Every OWEN I have looked at has a really worn bore, I am sure that doesn't help. You might also want to check the muzzle brake, I have seen one that was deformed at the muzzle, might be touching the bullets as they exit the bore. Not any way to regulate the sights on an OWEN! Richard -

Wow, that was an interesting read! You can bet all that material is no longer stored in New Jersey! Richard -
Cool U.S. Produced MP-40 Manual
APEXgunparts replied to Skip Greenwade's topic in The Firearm Manual and Book Forum
Looks like Colonel Jarrett continued with his tech writing efforts at the US Army Ordnance school at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. My Father purchased this document for me from the Ordnance Museum gift shop during a business trip to APG in the 1970's. I remember as a teen ager being quite excited to get this handout from the ordnance course. Later my Father took me to APG and let me spend a day exploring the museum and the "mile of tanks" at the gate. He dropped me off and went to the B&O railway museum in Baltimore where he spent his day. Richard -
Mr. Andrewski does it again...

We recently asked about removing chrome from guns. First return question from the shop was "what process was used to apply it" I still do not know how you figure out that detail! Richard -

1944 PPSH, All Matching GB Very Nice Gun: $53.5K
APEXgunparts replied to Rekraps's topic in Russian Submachine Gun Forum
For that kind of price I expect to see a bunch of these appear on the market! Don't get me wrong, they are interesting and historical, but so are a lot of SMG's and MG's in that price range. Richard Did I mention my Russian PPsH-41? -
Feeding & Jamming Issues
APEXgunparts replied to 19Steve67's topic in Sten, Sterling, and Lanchester SMG Message Boards
Perhaps a bit more details of the issues you are experiencing. "Jamming" is a broad statement. Are all the feeding issues the same? Richard -
Separating that barrel jacket and repairing the dent is quite a feat! I believe Mike got his running in .348 Winchester in very much the original configuration. It is an air cooled gun meant to be fired with an active air flow thru the barrel jacket. SO, it is not like you are going to be firing long belts of continuous shooting. SO loading up .348 for some range time doesn't seem impossible. Having a running balloon gun is very cool, always wanted to see how that interrupter system actually worked. My friend Jeff has a balloon gun that was never deactivated, and in the original 11MM Gras caliber, but he has no interest in firing it. We both have Vickers guns in .303, so that is what would go to the range. Richard

There was a meeting for members of the F.A.I.R. Trade group with the ATF senior staff ( with their senior legal counsel in attendance ) at the Shot Show. The ATF amnesty was brought up by someone very well versed in the matter. The question was well stated, and unlike every other topic presented, the ATF side stepped on the answer. Everything else that was asked and concerned changes to the law we were told to watch the federal register and comment accordingly. We were NOT given that answer about another amnesty. Richard

I read about this elsewhere. The one detail I don't see spoken about much is that the person that purchases the MG from the state can only sell that MG back to the state. It cannot cross state lines. I do not know if you can notify the state or ATF if you want to take that MG to an event / shoot that is out of state. I would have to guess that a state agency selling MG's would source them like L-E does, new production weapons. Since all states are short on funding then this would probably be a contract with the agency for a gun they have on a list, you provide the funds ( to include a fee to staff the office ) and they source the MG and purchase it for you. The details and Gov't process are what always makes things like not be so much fun. Just some thoughts.. Richard

Lewis Gun Case
APEXgunparts replied to CodyMonster's topic in Bren Light Machine Gun & Lewis Gun Message Board
There are multiple's of those cases, all having different issues. There are also other SKU's for those cases, listed in FAIR condition, or Nepalese marked. You have to look at what we have pictured, and maybe talk to my Customer Service if you have specific requests. ALSO, remember these are long and heavy, depending where you live you may want to come here and pick it out / pick it up. Richard -

It may be easier to rebuild an existing crate rather than build one from scratch. Vickers / Lewis MG Transit Chest, 48", No Latches, No Handles, Green Painted *Poor* Richard -

Looking for an OEM M79 wood stock...
APEXgunparts replied to Rekraps's topic in Destructive Device Forum
Today we opened up the pallet box that had AK pouches, USGI WW2 grenade sights and the M79 stocks. They are still in the packing. The 2 we checked so far were both brown fibreglass stock assemblies ( black rubber buttpad, sling swivel and attaching bolt). We will check the NSN's on all the packages to see if there are any of the wood stocks we thought we were receiving. I am heading out for the Shot Show in a few hours, so probably won't have any update until Friday or next week. Richard -
Looking for an OEM M79 wood stock...
APEXgunparts replied to Rekraps's topic in Destructive Device Forum
Hopefully next week we will start unpacking the shipment with the M79 wood stocks. We have been tied down sorting FAL, SiG 542, SiG 543, TABUK and East German kits. There was a bunch of magazines with them too. We have new warehouse staff starting next week, so MAYBE we can get caught up! Richard -

APEX Gun Parts just landed a good supply of M79 wood stocks. We have not even opened the pallet box yet as we are so far behind due to shortages of people. Maybe next week? Richard -

APEX Gun Parts has the stock you seek in the STEN MK5 parts category. STEN MK 5 parts category Richard -
Hard to judge the value of anything without some images to provide an idea of the condition. Gent at the SAR show was selling OWEN and AUSTEN magazines, and they were really in excellent condition. He was asking $185 on the AUSTEN mags. I remember the OWEN mags being less, but I wasn't shopping for any more OWEN mags... Richard

WTB mg08/15 barrel
APEXgunparts replied to DEngl's topic in Maxim, Vickers, & Other Water-Cooled Machine Guns
I was never able to locate an actual MAXIM MG08/15 barrel. So, I had an MAXIM MG08 barrel converted with the addition of a sleeve installed at the muzzle. Just an option in case an original barrel eludes you. Richard
