  1. Thank you. Glad you all had a good time. It’s not as easy as it looks getting everything setup and running for the S&S.
  2. If Pat date mags are selling for that then I should sell some of the ones I have.
  3. My hats off to them for some really good stamping and rolling equipment.
  4. That would be great. I just took apart my pre sample to study it. I could see where the receiver could have been a flat piece stamped out on a punch press then rolled, but it almost seems like it was an extrusion then had the finish work done to it. Honestly it could’ve been done either way.
  5. This past Friday, I took out the Colt digger one last time as its soon to be going to its new caretaker….ran a short belt of PPU ammo in it for one last time. These guns just chug along so nice.
  6. This past Friday, I brought out the 1924 Colt Commercial water cooled from Sing-Sing prison and for the first time in 65+ years, put water in the jacket and let it rip….we put 1,000 rds of Greek HXP through the gun with zero stoppages….the gun runs great, looks and sounds amazing as well. Now it’s time to clean it all up and put it in my office to rest for awhile. It’s not one I will take out and shoot all the time.
  7. Thank you Frank-my memory bank forgot there was a difference in the US Prop markings.
  8. The M1/M1A1 contracts ended in 1942 so basically all of the M1 type Thompson’s were produced during WWII. That radius does point to it being an AOC gun but the real tell tale will be if it has the GHB inspector marking, given the AOC marking is gone. You can’t get a FOIA unless it’s in your name, otherwise yes it is “sensitive tax information” but all you get is a bunch of papers with literally everything redacted except the dates.
  9. The only “stress” on a K receiver is the trunnion welds, the ejector “studs” and the slots at the tail cap where the cap locks into place. Now my question is this-were K receivers drawn as an extrusion, or were they rolled (similar to an MP5)?? My real K sure looks like it was an extrusion and not something that was “rolled over a mandrel”
  10. What are the proof marks on the gun? GHB or FJA? Pictures of the radius on the reciever where the corners are rounded by the back of the magwell? Any 30 round magazine would be “period correct” if it’s blued. The park’d mags were typically rework/refinish post war.
  11. Yeah I’m lost on how a homogenous piece of steel isn’t as strong as two pieces welded together.
  12. I finally have a full auto Swedish K again…happened quicker than I expected but I won’t complain too much (tho my bank account is!!) MWT had a pre sample K listed last week for $15,000 and I called them up about it. Given my relationship with them out there, we made a deal and it was shipped out on Monday (form 3 was that quick) The gun arrived today…finally, given FedEx Express and their stupidity/lack of caring about customers….it is papered as an M/45B, but is clearly an M/45A model. Now that it is in hand, I intend to file a FOIA on it to see what comes of the status on it, I figure it can’t hurt to inquire. I must say it looks nice next to my M/45B-Semi SBR I made. The pre sample K shoots as good as it looks. The gun maintains most of its original finish and the gun is numbers matching (the few numbers it actually has) I took it out for a quick trial today with Federal 115 grain and Blazer Brass 124 grain ammo…the gun shot the same point with both ammo’s at 50 yards!! I can’t complain about that at all and I intend to shoot the hell out of this thing as I forgot how smooth a Swedish K is!! Beyond happy to have one back in the safe again….
  13. A friend of mine has a Wilson tube K built on a Port Said kit. It’s been his shooter for since 1994 and in that time he has replaced one extractor and one sear. That is the one major aspect of the Swedish K/Port Said…they don’t break parts or wear out parts often.
